I suppose it's understandable that today, in a hot-swap world, people incorrectly assume that 25 year old equipment can handle it.

Working in the old-skool IT world, it was well known that you shouldn't be plugging and unplugging devices while something was on, due to ESD. I guess that knowledge was limited to IT people. I suppose it's understandable that today, in a hot-swap world, people incorrectly assume that 25 year old equipment can handle it.
