.........that you cannot assign a whole director to a drive, just a single XEX
The ATR and XEX files is Atari disk image files. That mean cause each one of them is a floppy disk. Now the SDrive emulate 4 floppy drives, and a boot directory who someone check and set the floppys to any of the 4 drives. If you want and have the skills to make a personal floppy disk with anything inside, you must first load an Atari Dos environment, and through it to make what you want. Of course you also must load in another floppy drive an empty floppy disk. If you download my sd card image, you can find them in "BLANK ATR DISKS" folder. Also if you want to see a floppy disk with some games from a guy menu, you can choose also from the "GAME FLOPPYS" folder.
Regarding to make folders in a floppy disk, you must use SpartaDos X because is the only environment who can handle them.
....is there a way to skip the loading of teh SDRIVE.ATR? I mean, after I have setup my 4 drives, it would be cool when I could boot directly from the selected drive.
If you want to skip the loading of main folder (4
leds lit) you can before press the Reset key, choose any of the 4 drives first. This will go you in the next floppy disk, but....... If you mean to start the device in some of the floppy disks, then thing changes.
Anytime you turn the power switch off and on, the 4 floppy drives goes in empty condition. To make the device "
remember" what was previews on the floppys, you must use the
Control + W keys after you setting the floppy disks first. Then every time turn the device on you can check to boot from any floppy drive you want.
You can find very usefull information about to what things can you do within boot menu, in the manual file of the designer- C.P.U. And believe me is very very usefull.
I believe to enlight you somewhat.
