Was there ever a short-range broadcast device made for electronics (like Atari or other computers/consoles/video machines) with RF output to a TV for wireless video?

You can get modern-day video transmitters for household use that use the GHz range.

I've not looked into them myself, so not sure of what types of sources they accept.

I doubt any would do RF out on the analog TV bands - FCC and the like wouldn't be real happy if they did.

Do you mean something specific to Atari?

Back in the 80's I had a little device that output to a UHF channel. It did work, but sometimes you would tune the channel and get fuzzy sound, or get sound and a fuzzy picture. There were some pots on the device to adjust.

I did use this for my Atari and it worked, however the picture quality wasn't fabulous and it was a finicky little device.

Awsome! That's what I'm talking about! Well, sort of, after looking further I see this will accept a video source, so there's no excuse to keep my RF modulator!
