Check that the PSU isn't getting as hot as it was before too.

SInce it is now working, you can go back and read the 5v on the regulator, jsut to see what you "should" have been seeing. That would supply all the ICs with 5v, and you can also check each chip for the 5v.

yup, everything is good to go, played a few games with no issues.

Here is the fruit of my labor. 30.00 for everything wasnt bad. (plus 1.99 for the chip i replaced)
