Basically very generic looking stick. No markings on the outside.Opened it up and it looks like its called a "Unibox" made by a company called Amerex.
It has the typical 2600 plug and the firing button does work/but nothing else.
I googled both names, and came up with zilch
The person I got it from said they thought it was a Newport, but I dont believe that they made it.
The guts look like a Wico, leafs, and while it does look very clunky,it appears it was made well
So,anyone have a clue???Ive run out of ideas
Oh,and the wire points are soldered, not push on clips

Not configured for standard Atari/Commodore/Sega use huh?

Maybe it's a TI joystick?

BTW: the switches for the stick look awfully close. Are they all stuck and shorted out? Is the ground wire still attached? Both would explain why the directionals don't work...

400 miles. Sunnyvale is near San Francisco while Riverside is near Los Angeles.

The switches do not appear stuck.Actually everything appears pristine.
I was wondering if it would be for a Coleco system?
But,still would like to know the history
As I said, its very clunky, but inside appears as though a lot of attention to detail was made.Wondering if
it was a prototype for another ????

This looks like a stick made by G.A.M.E.S. back in the day. You see ads for them all the time in old videogame mags like EG.

The best I can do right now is point you to the Jan 83 issue of Video Games, page 39. Or the Dec 82 issue of Electronic Games, page 107. You can find these magazines in the Digital Press library. The name of the joystick is the G.A.M.E.S. Super Joystick.

Maybe, but not necessarily. I've got plenty of other unmarked joysticks. I've never seen a Newport in person, but they don't appear to have any external markings at least. I can't speak for internal markings, as pictured by the OP.

Some Newport-related links:

Looks pretty close to me.

:)
