We played the game last week in the ABBUC Bundesliga and I found it's fun but the joystick control is awkward.

I checked the code and found the reason. Anybody else interested in a fix?

I'm interested. Like you said, fun game but the controls are mediocre.

Uhh, just found that I mixed up Mr. Do with Mr. Do's Castle. But maybe the reason is the same, I'll have a look.

I believe Espial for Atari 8-bit is real but I've never seen it boxed or even a recent picture of the cartridge. I actually asked everyone on AA last year if they had it and post a picture and no one ever came up with the goods ...but I believe its real, well kinda :-)

I know it is, because I had one of the ones that sold on Ebay back in 2002 (yes, I was very stupid for doing so). I sold it along with a Matterhorn (even more stupid) that came from a Phoenix, Arizona User Group. I know who purchased it, they got it too cheap, and yes, they do run a website.

I have a hard time believing that Mr Do! was released by Parker Brothers as a cartridge in only Canada. Atarimania has it listed as a disk, then for Canada a cartridge. The cartridge clearly looks homegrown, Parker brothers wouldn't put out a label without their name, etc on it. The instructions appear to be from the Disk version, hence the canadian portion.

http://www.atarimani...astle_3569.html (the cart in this picture has a label clearly not from Parker Brothers).

My guess is someone pillaged a PB cartridge, added a label, and switched out the chip/board.

Can someone please confirm this, thanx!

I've been around the scene off and on for many years now. I don't believe the Mr. Do! cart was ever in production. If it was, it would have one day appeared on eBay one way or another. I would say Prototype only. If any manuals were made with the cartridge instructions, it was probably just printed before the realization that producing the cartridge was too expensive, the manuals were printed, and never revised. Just my opinion. I'll ask around with a few other "old timers"

We are actually talking about Mr. Do!'s Castle, he (chrislynn5) didn't type the full name.

Whoops, sorry. I have a Mr. Do!'s Castle, but it came out of Europe and has a home made printed label probably 10 years ago. I think I remember at the time I was told that Castle was a prototype. This fellow made a Parker Bros Cart of it for a few of us, but of course it was homemade.

Well he was probably correct. For a long time Mr. Do's Castle was thought to be prototype only, but then the Canadian release was found. You can read about the prototype here, although I don't have a picture of it for some reason. Technically the cartridge version is still prototype onyl if you're in the US or Europe.

Obviously I need to update this page because A. It has been confirmed as a budget Canadian release, and B. A box does exist.
