The prices for Atari stuff on fleebay the last few years have gotten pretty crazy at times. Granted there is a lot of stuff in this auction but this by far takes the cake for the as far as asking price I've ever seen. Item number is 320669183978. Good luck to the seller, methinks he's gonna need it.

That is crazy. Not Atari products, but I've been looking for a colecovision and intellivision.

People also try and get a lot of money on craigslist too, I saw an atari 2600 with 20 games and they wanted 200 for it and they said they might not be asking enough for it. ummmmmmm

How much would ebay charge just to list it at that price?? Think I'll stick my collection up & ask for $3950 just to under cut him! Quick grab a bargain!

Not a critique on the auction, but how can something be "sealed without shrinkwrap"?

The seller probably took advantage of a free listing eBay promotion and is trying to feel out what he can get for the lot. It's not a bad selling strategy IMO...

It really is a nice lot though; lots of sealed treasures that got me drooling. A sealed Zone Ranger is worth $200 alone according to RarityGuide.com. Perhaps $500 for the lot would be reasonable?

What???? Zone Ranger is going for that much?? I think I only paid $30 for my sealed copy a few years ago.

I guess I shouldn't be too shocked. I've been trying to pick up boxed complete items on ebay lately quite a bit and I have yet to win an item for under $30. CIB items seemingly have gone through the roof lately whereas loose copies of items have taken a hit in price (or so it seems to me).

The old games used to be glued on the top, which explains why so many tops got ripped when freshly opened!

You know, I thought the exact same thing. Only thing that came to mind was perhaps the boxes were taped during manufacturer?

There's really nothing like opening a sealed mint game though; it truly takes me back to my childhood and personifies nostalgia. It's like a forbidden fruit; the sealed games in my collection are always tempting me

About the lot; it really is a nice collection and if I had the cash currently I would offer $500 with free shipping. Considering the value of the sealed games that would be a steal IMO.

Don't think too badly of the seller for his $4,000 Buy It Now Price either; he is accepting offers and the price is his stratagem to see what he can actually get for collection. Pretty clever actually; this is especially true if he took advantage of a free listing promotion that eBay frequently offers.

Early games were glued shut... This is before game manfacturers figured out kids would steal the item out of the box.

If I had millions I would surely plunk down 4k for it but I don't have millions so... yeah it's a little pricey.
