I recently picked up an Emerson Arcadia 2001 and a bunch of loose carts for pretty cheap. The console works except for two things that make it unplayable. The first is that the Player 1 disc/joystick acts as if it is always pushed to the right. The second is that when the Player 2 disc/joystick is depressed in any direction, the screen garbles up.

I don't have any experience with this console and haven't even cracked it open yet. Do these issues sound familiar to other Arcadia owners?

I don't own one myself but I've read comments about the joysticks before. There's probably plenty of info on repairing them out there.

Thought I'd bump this in case any Arcadia engineers happened to join AA in the past couple of months. Otherwise, this will be another console I let go for cheap.

Let me know if you get around to selling it. I'll take it and tinker with it, see if I can get something out of the beast. :)

Will do, Cebus. It's beginning to look like no one has has this problem before.
