HI there,

I just picked up a Commodore 64 today and it came with a 1541 and a bunch of games. One of them was in an envelope that has a sticker on it saying "DEMO ONLY Not for resale."

Inside the envelope is the game War in Middle Earth, two diskettes, instructions, registration card, etc. Both Diskettes have the same Demo only sticker. I tried to search the net for a possible explanation but my search turned up nothing.

Is this a rarity? could someone shed some light on this?

Thank you
Adam

I just wasn't sure if the demo only thing meant anything...

It's just a copy that stores or other retailers got for demonstration purposes sometimes. I've never noticed that it raises the value at all. BITD, when I ordered my Amiga 500 online, there was a mix-up with the order, and when I called to get it straightened out, the store said they'd include in the new shipment a free game, Joan of Arc. When I got it, it was an opened demo copy with the stickers on it. Not sure if they were really supposed to give that away, but they did, and I didn't care. At the time, I thought it was a great game, when I couldn't really afford any new Amiga games.
