I learned something from this smashup video of a Pet 2001, it has a converted battery-operated cassette recorder! Just sort of strapped in there. It is also a good demo of how durable these old systems were. And, and, it's the first time I ever saw inside this machine.

Boo! Another a-hole destroys classic tech for views, NO THANKS........

Now, if it was merely to learn something by exploring the insides that would be one thing , I really don't see most members
here appreciating this kind of thing, if your into it whatever,
personally I find it pretty pathetic.

We have the same model of PET on display at the Personal Computer Museum.

I looked at a few moments of each video. It made me feel sick to my stomach.

What bothers me, whether it be classic consoles or anything else, is the propensity for lheuwzur teens to keep wanting to break things. Don't you think this will carry over later in life and mutate into spousal abuse, for example?

What an idiot. That could have been fixed up. I'd have loved to have had that (see my sig). There's built-in retaliation here though, as this moron will be a moron for the rest of his life, no salvation from that.

One thing for sure, most of the older electronics emit and out-gas some sort of lead (and other toxic materials), whether it be by sparking solder vaporizing, or the dust inside the crt escaping. So each smashee gets back at the smasher in a tiny fashion.
