krypton85
So the pipes burst in the basement of my apartment building today, and I had to shut off the water main to the whole building. And while I was poking around for the shut off, I saw this behind a huge panel: It took some finagling to get it out of there without tearing at the wires, there were a set of controllers in that mess too. So now I have myself a light sixer! I'm going to clean it up and see if it works, it must have been down there forever. I did a bunch more digging after the water main was off, but I didn't find any games Still it was a mini-adventure. It took about two hours to fix the busted pipes, and I'm keeping this as payment (my landlord would have done it but he recently had a heart attack and can't do anything too strenuous) I'll try and get this cleaned up and post some pics of it after the rescue.

krypton85
UPDATE! Took this apart and cleaned the chassis: Something was rattling around inside, turns out the power connecter came completely undone from the PCB: Nothing a little solder can't fix: While it was apart I decided to clean all the contacts: Before I got it all back together, I figured it would be a good idea to test it: It works! Parts are done drying, I'll need to get some orange paint for the border: And here is the final product!: All in all it's in pretty decent condition, it cleaned up well and works great!

SlowCoder
That was a truly great scavenge find! And that it works makes it that much more special. I can't make heads or tails of the first picture. Were you upside down when you took the shot?

Mirage
Touching story. Poor little guy. Yet another testament to the durability of the VCS.
iesposta
Great job! Is this a light Sixer? It's not made in California, but it has heavy shielding. Do all light sixers have that shielding, but the lighter plastic?
