+therealbountybob Posted March 9, 2012 Author Share Posted March 9, 2012 OK Folks I've found an XEX version of Desmond's Dungeon that works (well level 11 does!) the kiddie is on atarionline.pl - a great site for keeping all versions and hacks of games - the working one is .XEX (V4) and has "English Software" on the title screen. Also this ATR may be ok! So here's what we'll do - the round will be extended until Tuesday 13th 10am GMT. Places decided on scores as normal. To bag a 1pt bonus (sorry no gold) for the *highest level* reached Start the (v4) game on level 8 (select from title screen) *unless there is another problem level Re the LEVEL 1 BONUS point: Can an NTSC player see if they can get near my 3,010 for level 1 (dungeon & vault) in one man. I did it without getting hit, I think; or maybe once? I'm wondering if the timer means PAL players can score more? I've been testing your .CAS Alternative Software file, and made it to level 12 from dungeon 8 (although it looks like trbb beat me by just a hair..he must have been a busy beaver going through all those atarionline.pl files ) I also did it the old fashioned way (from dungeon 1) and squeaked into Vault 11--boy, it's a real b!t$h . OK we'll stick to TUESDAY morning deadline and make the game straight on points (makes my life easier!). The timer starts at 150 in the version I was playing (Thorn EMI?), this version starts at 200!
