Had a ton of goes, finally beat that third shooting ship on 8000 miles but then ran into a rock for no reason :mad:

In to my third run I died on 2000 miles (so i guess 22000) - total score 54900

Awesome score Orpheus! a well earned bonus point :thumbsup: you can go for another one if you complete the third round ;) I'm finding this a tough game frustrating but enjoyable; very nice derezzing effects for the explosions :)

Struggling to improve but managed 28,650 :)
Think the levels have a fixed firing pattern so should be able to master this game.

managed to complete the first round after a week of playing.... tough game. I'd like to offer some tips but all I can say is for me the early sections seem harder (esp 2000 and 5000 perhaps) so persevere. Really try and take out the guns stay about 2 inches from the ground, forget about fuel as you usually get the odd one.. Take out the falling mines that you can before they fall but concentrate on the guns, get right and drop a couple of bombs down that big shaft and hang back as long as you can... generally waiting rather than flying fast through immediately seems to be better. Good luck :)

Can we have a two tiered vote for the next round? Say 10 games in the 1st round of voting whittled down to the most popular 3 or 4 for the 2nd round. Or is that a crap idea? :)

It's a good idea but I've already got plans for round 9 ;) so we can do that for round 10 perhaps ;)
Did you make it twice round for the bonus point like Orpheus?

No I did have a try. Closest I got was about half way through the 2nd round and my machine reset on me again, it doesn't seem to like this game :(

I agree, the game becomes surprisingly easy once you manage to survive the falling rocks stage...

Not to brag, but I won this one going away on the ColecoVision HSC - 161,540. I find the Atari 8-bit version a lot harder...at least on an emulator...maybe I should fire up the 130XE...

:D I'm thinking of awarding you both the 1st place (as it stands) but perhaps the HSC win should be whoever gets the furthest (miles) as the scoring is slightly flawed as there's that repeating (easy) level? If we play this again will make it on distance for everyone :)
