Mendon
http://blog.popcap.com/2012/08/21/popcap-update-from-john-vechey/ Wow... I thought that PopCap Games was a pretty successful company with popular game releases like Plants vs. Zombies, Zuma, Bejeweled series, Feeding Frenzy, Peggle, and more. Their business model seems to focus where the current trend of profitable gaming is: mobile and casual. So the above article kind of surprises me. Makes me wonder..... are these layoff's & restructuring another example that perhaps gaming "as we knew it" is in trouble and has to change or is this another example of EA dooming another acquisition? Rex Dart
Sounds like their employment practices are mobile & casual, too
cimerians
They got bought by EA about a year ago and are defending their masters right now as people tug at their leash. The only folks I trust these days in any truth is perhaps Valve, 2K Games (the nice folks that do Borderlands), Rockstar and Bethesda (for the most part). I hate bashing Popcap though. Lots of great games and fun times with Peggle, PvZ etc. Just hate the ones controlling their destiny. They were in the news quite a bit here in Seattle as a fun place to work. -Grizz
