Well, you will have the rare opportunity to play these great games again at the Video Game Summit, Chicago 's premier video game trade show. In fact, dealers in retro games will be on hand offering games, controllers,systems and memorabilia and will be prepared to buy or trade for the games you have held onto since you were a kid. Who knows, you might just have an Atari cartridge worth $1000 or more collecting dust in your attic. "Retrogaming," the playing and collecting of classic video and computer games, is more popular than ever. In fact, a dedicated group of programmers still issues new games for game systems,such as the Atari 2600, last seen in retail stores over fifteen years ago. The Video Game Summit, now in its ninth year, brings together classic and modern generation gamers from all over the country to swap stories, games and to compete in sanctioned tournaments and raffles. The event is open to the public and people of all ages with an interest in video games or computers are encouraged to attend. According to the event's organizer, Dan Iacovelli, "we plan to have many retro and modern game consoles for play”. Now it can as we bring the two popular sections of the show Turbofest and Jagfest to a local arcade. Octurbofest was the first VGS Event held at Galloping Ghost Arcade in Brookfeild,IL ran by Armando Rodriguez on October 20th,2012 this event was based on the TurboFest Section at VGS. And it had a good turn out of 40+ people, at the time though it wasn't an officially a VGS Event. Starting in 2013 Octurbofest will be an offical VGS Event and we will have news on it when it's set. On the heals of the success of the Octurbofest, the VGS staff has announced our second event AtariMania:April Showers bring Atari Followers for April 13th,2013 at Galloping Ghost Arcade in Brookfeild,IL from 1 pm to 9 pm. AtariMania is said to be the next evolution of the Atari Jaguar Festival (Jagfest)section at VGS, as not only will it have the Jaguar but it will have the classics(2600 to 7800 and Lynx) plus two Atari aracdes. Like Octurbofest, AtariMania will be in the Game Rooms at the arcade, Admission to AtariMania is 5.00 person(this only give you access to the event only, if you want admission to both Arcade floor and AtariMania it it will be 20.00) you pay at the door only and make sure you mention AtariMania. I was refering to your pm to me saying that you were comited to mgc because of budget .if you want to help e-mail me and I'll put you back onthe list could use an other jag I'll have mine though but on the enrance tables using the skunk for some homebrews (if you bring yours I can put yours with brandons to show some cd games) that is true, there is chance we might move the show next year to another location(even though we a/b,c and deli at heron point,had move arcades to hallway to make room for side tables) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
