Kiwi
Once in a blue moon, I would open up ICVGM and start drawing tiles. I usually visualize games made for Colecovision, usually making a demake version of the same game. That graphic chip just draws(bad pun) me in. Knowing the limitations, I want to experimenting with the graphics and see what I make it do. I programmed a mock-up slideshow, so I can view the pictures on a tv screen. It is also good to program the sprites to their position. I spent all day today completing the drawings for Actraiser Fillmore Act 2, and Rygar. I also drew the sprites for the respective scenes. I filled the ROM to the 32KB make. There's about 15 scenes to go through. This is the link to the video of the slideshow. www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-5cesw7Yic Also the ROM file is attached.mockupfull.zip Here are the some of the screenshots: I made a topic here: http://www.atariage....p/#entry2226333 Actraiser Simulation mode. There's a devil sprite in the upper right corner, and a bat on the bottom right corner. Then the angel in the center. This is the first mock-up demake I made using ICVGM. This is Fillmore Act 1 level. The enemies a bit hard to see on TV screen. This is Fillmore Act 2. I completed the tileset today and place sprites in their places. The split open apple health icon, I love the look of it in the SNES. So I recreated it. Rygar demake of the Arcade version. It's one of my most favorite Atari Lynx, so I wanted to recreate it for the Colecovision. I was thinking double sprite mode would be better since most enemies are about 32x32. It wouldn't hurt to see how it look. Tower defense game I made a mock-up of. These two below are not included in the ROM. I forgot to save the tileset after finishing making this mockup and I would have to recreate the tiles and have it generate the RTE files. It's Plok for your Colecovision! You throw your limbs at enemies to destroy them! Lagoon for your Colecovision! That floor tile is amazing for 8x8, which made me make this mock up. I will produce a 2nd ROM including this one and many more artwork I made with ICVGM. Hope you enjoy these pictures. NIAD
Great Pokemon mock-ups! My son would absolutely flip if a ColecoVision version was ever released.. even though he is starting to grow out of the whole Pokemon thing and replacing it with Baseball and Basketball.
