The lack of a headphone jack is a deal-breaker for me. I can't play games without music and I can't crank the volume in most places I want to play a portable.

Any thoughts?
Well, you could tear out all that loser screen/electronic stuff and have a cute little compact for makeup :)

Great idea - a year ago! ;)

I have a GBA and am thinking of selling it or trading it in for a GBA SP, but since I have a GameCube I think it makes more sense for me to get the Player coming out in April or so...

Same here, but that depends on whether or not you actually play your GBA on the go or not......I don't so the gamecube addon would be great!

That's great! It will be out in time for my son's B-Day. I held off getting him the GBA because I'd just gotten him the GBC right before it came out. I did think about trading up for the GBA, but now I am glad I waited.
How much is it going to be?

I believe $99 is the suggested retail price, but I could be wrong..

Does the Game Cube adapter allow you to do the linkups like with Metroid Prime/Fusion?

While the Gameboy and all of it's updates/models sell great and are popular, this is just one more half assed attempt to do it right. Still have to buy adapters, etc. It amazes me that back in the day of the Turbo Express and Game Gear, you bought it, had everything you needed, and was backlit the 1st time they came out :!: But being Nintendo is the only contender in this market, why not milk everyone as often as they can?

it's your choice to buy the SP or not. I got a GBA, but i have been holding out getting my second one, so my brother and i can play linkable games together, for quite awhile now. And the SP is gonna be my choice this time around. Oh yeah, and how much battery life did the TG-Express and GG have?? around 3 1/2 hours was it?? i`d prefer to have 15 hours and use a light source than have to buy batteries all the time

While your battery life point is very good, how many years ago were they out? About 8-10? And they were backlit back then and you could watch TV to boot and you didn't have to buy an add-on headphone adapter of all things............

you have very good points StarScream. But i don`t Nintendo is anymore milking the market than NEC or Sega did by making portable versions of their consoles. And i think the headphone adpater will be included. Not sure though

Hehe, I dunno, I didn't even have to buy additional games for my TE - just played all of my regular Turbo games :) NEC didn't milk me, but I do know they sure as hell got tons of my $$$ :D And, the TE was $300 new but I'm pretty sure that that is a comparible price to the $100 for the SP if you take into consideration how inexpensive electronic goods are now. No doubt, the SP would be around that price of $300 if it was just coming out 10 yrs ago. I'm sure we'll get our son an SP and I'm sure he'll forget where the hell he put it just as much as he does with his GBC :D

LOL. I would say it would probably be closer to $500 if it was released at that time

No, because you can only be playing one or the other on the GCN at a time, not both.
