I just have to iterate how much I'm loving this game. The attention to detail is magnificent, and it manages to capture that special Metroid "feel" that all the other games. I get so completely immersed in this game that I sometimes jump out of my seat when I'm surprised.

Then there's the complete and utter despair I feel when I screw up big - like when I came shooting out of a pipe in the morph ball and promptly sank to the bottom of a lake of lava and could do nothing but sit in disbelief as I melted away....

This is probably my favorite game since Symphony of the Night.

How far are you into it? I've been playing since December and am currently at around 55% only :P

I share your love for that game. It truly is great in every way. I could go on for pages on why it is so great, but I think playing it is enough!

Once you finish, you get hard mode. It's harder, and more fun. That's right, more fun! Good luck!

it has not hooked me yet, I am hoping it will. I have only gotten to the first place you could save a game. So far looks good, not to crazy about having to switch visors but it will probably all become 2nd nature very soon. My expectations are very high after all I have heard. :D

I was really into this game right before I got stuck. I couldn't beat that one boss that looks like a giant plant so I stopped playing (like I do with every game I get stuck in).

I will probably make some enemies but - I don't really think MP is all that great. It looks phenominal and is extremely smooth. But, whoever came up with the control layout should be shot. Pretty much, that has made the game quite frustrating to try to play. Also, I don't like all of the "busy work" in the game. Too much pointless stuff. Could be just me though........

Let me add I'm just about half way done. Now I know the controls are going to suck throughout the game, but does it get more intersting? I mean, do you still have to do dumb stuff or does it get more intense?

I got stuck there for quite a while. Want the answer?

I got it a week ago Sunday and have about 6 hours of time and I think I'm at 20%.

I can hit him once or twice. But after that I have problems. I'm so used to FPS's for PC that it makes it very hard for me to control Samus and get her to the gates fast enough. If you have any tips I would love to hear them :D.

Okay, here's the thing. Lock on to the monster itself, and CONSTANTLY shoot it as your dashing from dish to dish. When you get in front of the dish, lock on to the dish and nail it with a missile.

The reason you want to keep nailing the plant monster itself is even though it doesn't drain its life bar, after several hits you'll stun it, which will keep it from resetting the dishes you've already disabled. If you don't keep stunning it, it will just reset the dishes you've disabled.

I call them dishes 'cause they look like satellite dishes.

And you know once it hits the ground to throw a bomb in the shaft, right?

Happy hunting!

Yes it does get more intense but it's not a FPS combat game, it's a Metroid game, which means the emphasis is on exploration. And like ANY Metroid game, it just gives you more and more abilities as the game goes on and allows you to do cooler things So by the time you're all powered up, you're having a ball and the controls are second nature. (unlike a game like Halo, where you pretty much have all your abilities at the beginning and just get different weapons). So it's all good.

So yeah, the answer is it does get better. I'd say a safe place to make a judgement call whether you like it or not is about the 50% mark in the game. :)

Later, near the end, the game picks up quite a bit. The last area, which is the biggest, is focussed on combat over exploration, and is very fast paced and exciting. Once you get all of Samus' gear (especially the Plasma Beam,) the game is at its best.

I got stuck on the Plant boss too, until I got better acquainted with the controls. After a few attempts, I found the plant boss to be pretty easy, believe it or not. You probably are not even at 20% yet at that point.

I bought the game in November and still haven't beaten it either. I'm in the high 40%'s somewhere. The Phazon mines were really killing me off -- I finally got past that stretch of the game and saved. I think I most recently got the grabbling hook and the super bomb which blows up bendezium.

MP is a great game; I look forward to playing Hard mode over the NEXT several months.

I'll predict right now that Wind Waker is going to distract you from that :P

i want to get MP so badly, but as it is, i`m playing Golden Sun, Chrono Cross, Zelda: Master Quest, and trying to finish up Chrono Trigger, and soon to be playing Wind Waker aswell. It will be somewhat difficult to gave all of them equal time.

I had to play about 6 hours before it happened, great game ! I can see why so many reviewers have given this a 10 ! My only wish is that I could save more often. Great Game ! If you have a GameCube, this is a must buy ! If you do not have a GameCube, This game almost alone justifies the Purchase. :D :D :D

Does anybody going to PC have a completed game they'd let me copy to a card so I could unlock original Metroid? I have to be honest, I'm much more interested in completing Fusion, although I did buy a link cable just for the purpose of making the connection between the two.

Yknow I did exactly the same thing.. and it seemed I would NEVER finish Metroid Fusion. But just the other night I hunkered down and just tried to play it for a while and surprisingly, I was closer to the end than I thought it was. Basically, you know how everyone says Metroid Fusion is "short"? Well they're absolutely right. :!:

Just play it and finish it. Use Gamefaqs.com if you want to know how to defeat some of the tougher bosses (generally it involves shooting missles really really fast). But you can do it dude ;)

I'm currently borrowing MP, and I have to say this is the shizznit! Wow! I immediately got hooked, and yes, I'm stuck on the plant monster too. :)

I just picked this up last week at Blockbuster, used, for $14.99! I couldn't pass that up (manual and case both in great shape). :D

I fired it up to make sure it works, and it looks like a LOT of fun. I have to finish Zelda:WW first before tackling this one though....

Agree 100%. Only disappointment is the length. At near 30 hours I am rather bored and wondering if it will ever end.

RCmodeler, how can a game be too long?

;)

I have to say I'm not too big a fan of FPS on consoles. I prefer a keyboard and mouse but I thought the controls on MP were flawless. The game plays perfectly. The sound is great. I'm at the end now and Metroid Prime is kicking my @$$. I'm taking a Prime break to play Z:WW. It's about time the GC got some killer, must have titles. Especially after the disappointment that was Mario Sunshine.

Are you supposed to go completely through the chozo ruins area first?
