Hey, gang.

Could I get your feedback on Lynx Casino? What casino games are included in the game? And do you think it's worth the 39.95 that Telegames is charging for it?

This is one I'm thinking about getting. I can't believe Telegames is still charging that much for a lot of Lynx games.

Also - can anyone tell me a little about Crystal Mines II? Is it anything at all like the old Boulderdash games for the c64?

I like Lynx Casino. I play Blackjack, Video Poker, and Slots regularly. The little guys you talk to in the joint are funny, and add some ambiance to the game. I just wish the carpet wasn't so guady.

I wouldn't pay more than $10 for it. Maybe $15 new.

As for CM2, David Sherwin recently submitted a review of it for The Atari Times that should answer your questions. Here it is:

If you are looking for a new copy of Lynx Casino it is one of the most rare games to find.

Go Atari (www.goatari.com) is selling it for $89.99 (!) Telegames has it, and they have even made new copys of the game I think. But the best price for a new Lynx Casino is Video Game Sources http://www.videogamer.org/ they are charging only 29.90 for it.

I think this game was developed by the same team that was behind World Class Soccer. Lynx Casino is of course a much better game but it is not one of my favorites.

I got my Lynx Casino new off Ebay for $12 including shipping so I think I got off lucky. It is a little bit more rare than the average Lynx game, but not so rare that you can't get it for less than $15.00. It is a good game but not on anyone's essential. must have lists. It more or less faithfully reproduces a casino and the ambience pretty well, but of course it gets repetitiive without the thrill of blowing real money.

Lynx Casino doesn't have an ending, does it? what I liked about Vegas Dream for the NES was that you'd get a nice ending sequence once you made 10 million or so.

Personally, I never cared very much for Lynx Casino. Maybe it's because I'm over 21 -- really, what's the point? I can gamble in the real world and make some money while I'm at it. This game is fine for what it does, but is it really any different than the video casino computer games from 20 years ago? For $39.99, I'd pass and put that money towards a trip to Vegas.

Crystal Mines 2, however, is much better. I want to say it's a gem, but then the pun police would be all over me. It is very much a ripoff of Boulderdash; think of it as the modernized version. CM2 is based on a little-known game on the NES by Color Dreams, which later copied the formula for the Ned Flanders-friendly Exodus and Joshua. Good fun.

So the casino has Blackjack, Poker, and Slots. Are there any other casino games included? Does it also have roulette and craps?

Yes, it has craps and roulette. But I've never found either of them very interesting. Also, Poker is VIDEO Poker which is a bit different than a table Poker game.

Crystalmines 2 like balderdash?

I love both games and they are very similar, the physics are very similar (except your character stays in the screen) CM2 plays a bit slower.

BUT (and this is a big but), BUT your robot has a weapon, a gun which completely changes the game.

It's still a great game.

As for CASINO, I have no idea, never played it and have no desire to do so.
