I'm liking this game so far, but it's annoying how easily you can be killed. Anyway, I can get the knife and the cross, but the wolves on the cliffs always end up killing me on the way to getting the axe. Is there any way to shake them off? I managed to do so once, but it seems like I can't do it anymore.

you gots to zig zag back and forth as you run across the ledge. That way, they'll miss you. Once you get the axe...no worries
