Something I just noticed - on page 4 of the "Cat Wants to Play" catalog here on Atari Age, there's a photo of the Lynx at the bottom, and the screen is of a Sonic game - you can see Sonic! Now, as far as I know, a Sonic game was never released for the Lynx. He was on the Game Gear, of course, but not the Lynx!!!

So what's up with that?

And another general question I've been wondering about - on the back of the Lynx II, what are those two metal tabs for?

I can't answer the Sonic question...but I can tell you that the Metal tabs were for the use of having a Neck Strap attached. Like on a camera. However, I haven't ever seen a Lynx neckstrap. And I could also be wrong...but I just can't see them being for any other use.

you are correct about the metal clips on the back.they were for the neck
strap accessory that was not released for the lynx 2.the sonic picture was
a typo in the lynx catalog you mention.my two cents worth.--chris

But how the hell could Atari "mistakenly" put a screen shot of a Sega game on the Lynx? Or are you saying it was a printing mistake?

There's another thread here in which that question was addressed. I believe that it was a printing error, if I remember correctly. :)

Hmm...Atari and Sega did have a court battle which was settled at one point. Maybe Atari got the rights to release Sonic on the Lynx at one point? I doubt it but you never know.
