Hello everyone
Wonder if anyone can help.I have a lynx 1 that was working fine until 2 day`s ago. When I turn it on there is a black line across the bottom of the screen. The line is about 1cm thick and about 2cm from the bottom of the screen.
Thanks for your time.

i'd say your lcd screen is going to hell on you.the first game boy units had
bad lcd screen sealing on them and were recalled--as i found out when i
called nintendo years ago.the pixels slowly died on these units and were
registered by blank lines of pixels across the screen.your problem too,i
guess?i know, what the hell does this have to do with my lynx??hmmm.
the only other thing could be that your screen ribbon to your lcd from the
main board is showing its age and is cracking through.i had a lynx 2 do it
to me a few years ago.the plastic/mylar covering seems to dry out and do
a cracking number on you after a while(my experience).the bend they put
in them when they are made so they reach the screen does not help the
ribbon much, it seems to me.
is the unit doing anything else? i'd like to hear more! i keep it in my lynx
memory bank for the future.--the ultimate atari lynxer

And it is because of stuff like this...that I just picked up a spare Lynx 2 unit in great shape for about $19 bucks this weekend...no box or manuals..etc..but it does have the battery cover..and is overall cosmetically in much better shape than my currently used one...

I would recommend picking up a spare or another unit to use..and keep the old one as a spare for parts...
