/images/news/GP32_icon.gifFabrizio Zavagli, author of Space Treat Deluxe for the Atari 2600, is bringing his Atari 2600 experience to bear on the GP32 gaming handheld. Fabrizio is porting Dan Boris' Virtual VCS emulator to the GP32 and has made excellent progress so far. The GP32 uses Smart Media Cards, allowing a great number of 2600 games to be loaded into the GP32 simultaneously. Fabrizio tells us that games are fully playable now, but presently without sound. Those units are only made and sold in Korea but you can order one from this place in Hong Kong. I have ordered many things from them, they are very reliable.

Hi all!
liquid_sky said: yet more proof that a handheld linux based system opens the door for all sorts of awesomeness Humm is the GP32 linux based!?!? (not that I know of foxglove9 said: Nice!! Can't wait for a Gameboy Advance version. Not from me for sure Coding emulators on the GP32 is more straightforward and gives great results speed- and screen-wise: the GP32's CPU is running at 133mhz (overclockable via software) and its screen is a beautiful 320x240 so you can fit the whole image without resizing. Plus, a nice 8mb of ram sure come in handy All in all, the system is much closer to a PC than a GBA is! Anyway, right now I still have to implement a file selector and some menu stuff before release. Of course I'd also like to speed up emulation as much as possible Finally, much thanks to Dan Boris for his clean original code! Greets, Rasty.- |

I read this post and i try to post some info about GP32
Its a 32bits hanheld with an ARM9 series processor a 3.5" screen (320x240 resolution) running at Hi Color mode (more than 65k colors) The store file format is in SMC cards (8 to 128Mb) and send and receive files througt an usb port built in. But because of my ugly english i no make justice of them :-P This is the official Game Park site: http://english.gamepark.com/ At this site (Spanish) you can found daily updates and the latest info and emus: http://elportal2000....lobal.com/gp32/ There are another english sites for GP32: http://gp32.emu.pl/ http://www.gp32emu.com/ Site for buy the console, games and accesories: http://www.lik-sang.com/ I think with this you have a closest idea of the power of this machine Fiera_SouL PS: For Fabrizio Zavagli, thanks for make possible play the Atary system at the GP32. And, yes, u can launch some version of LINUX on the GP32. But you have to manually expand the system memory to 32Mb... (more info at DarkFaders page: http://users.raketne...ader.net/gp32/) Have a nice day |

Well for now I think that the internal 8mb ram will be enough to emulate the 2600 I'll keep you posted with updates to the emu! Greets, Rasty.- |
