Well, here's another board I have to live on now :)

Anyway, I just got a Lynx with three games (Hydra, Shadow Of The Beast, Ninja Gaiden). I've seen the threads that explain what some of the best games are to get, those are helpful.

My question is, about how much can I expect to pay for these games? I've never payed attention to Lynx games in the wild, so I don't really know. I'm not a boxed game collector, so I'm mainly looking for prices of loose carts or w/ manual...

I'd just like a general range, and maybe highlight a few of the higher priced carts to obsess over :)

Thanks.

New, boxed, unopened Lynx games are common on eBay. You can get 'em for a few bucks, anywhere between say $1 and $5, plus shipping. Buy several from the same seller and you should save on shipping, sweetening the deal. The last two games I bought from one seller and they came out to like $7 each - which I don't think is bad at all for a brand new, boxed, complete game.

The games I play most often are Shanghai, Rampart, Xenophobe Ms. Pac-Man, and Crystal Mines II. I just got Super Skweek and I like it, too. Kung Food is a fun, quirky fighter - but I haven't been able to get past the second level - this one you can get really cheap on eBay, as in you'll pay more for shipping than for the game.

I find that that price range only holds true for the really common items, though. Most of my really rare older games ("Lemmings", "Xenophobe"), have been acquired in trades, but I think you can expect to pay around (at least) $25 for those (loose).

I think your best bet is still to buy a Lynx system with a lot of games, and trade off the ones that you don't want.

Agreed with the eBay posts. Check out the Lynx section on eBay; there are so many listings for mulitple game auctions (many games are new and still shrinkwrapped) that are around $10 that you will have no problem increasing the size of your game collection at a very low price.

In the last couple days I've seen multiple auctions that list games like Cystal Mines II, Kung Food, Steel Talons, Super Skweek, Klax, Chips Challenge, etc all in one package and will have a starting bid of like $8.00 and a BIN price of maybe $15. Also many of the games I just listed are sold separately with a BIN price of maybe $2.00.

I have eBay to thank for ressurecting my Lynx love, and within two months I've aquired more games then I had back in the early 90's. Just received Checkered Flag today, as good as I remembered it, and got Blue Lightning the other day, never had that one. Still after Warbirds, Toki, Rampage and Electrocop. I'm trying to get a few titles twice so I can introduce my mates to the joys of ComLynxery, Checkered Flag, Rampage and Xenephobe Lynxed up are just intoxicating, and I'd like to try two player Hockey too.

Anyone played Euro Soccer Challenge? I'm interested in how that plays since Telegames have them on sale for £20 (Err...$32-ish) each.

Euro Soccer Challenge is actually a really good soccer game, probably one of the best I've played on a handheld (I don't know if there are any GBA soccer games available). It reminds me alot of the original FIFA soccer games. Stay away from World Class Fussball/Soccer though.

I've heard that the latest FIFA game for the GBA is really good. As long as it's as cool as the original Genesis FIFA (with the crowd chanting and such), I'm sold.

I got my entire Lynx collection on Ebay. I have the Lynx, the carrying case, the adapter and about 17 games. It is usually less expensive to buy a collection of games at once rather than buying single pieces. I would only recommend getting single games if they are rare and only if you are getting them to collect them rather than to play them.

Myself I stick to the common games. The only single game that I went after is the chess program so that I can take it to my chess club and they don't complain that I am just playing games on the Lynx since I can stick in the chess game when they ask.

Thanks so far for the help...I don't use eBay (probably should have mentioned that earlier...) I may have to get one of those auctions though, since they all have at least one or two of the games I am looking to get...

Even though eBay is the easiest way, anyone go for games in the wild? And how much do they usually run out there??

Lynx games are usually much harder to find out in the wild, although not impossible. A local game store here in town still has quite a few Lynx games, although most of them are loose carts, and the few boxed ones aren't in all that great condition. From what I've seen, you usually pay a few extra bucks out in the wild, although you do eventually save due to not having to pay shipping costs. Still, though, I'd definitely recommend eBay as by far the easiest and cheapest way of finding Lynx games.
