I just read the article. it's nice to see that he's finally getting recognition on a broader scale after all these years.

I am glad to see that he is finally getting some acknowledgement for all his outstanding work. It is a shame that for such a long time he was relatively unknown despite the fact that it was his ideas that resulted in the Odyssey, the first true home gaming console.

I too wished that he had been my grand dad.

There's also a whole chapter devoted to Baer in Van Burham's excellent book, Supercade. This also gives some insight to what was to become the computer and hacker culture back at M.I.T. and the development of Space War. :) :idea:

Yeah, cool article.Thought it was funny that the "violent" shooting lightgun is what saved the odyssey from being passed over in the first place.
