they arnt the real atari, they are just using the name, so im not going to go out of my way to buy any of thier games.
Atari's been owned by 5 different people:

Nolan Bushnell - 70's
Warner [Communications] - 80's
Jack Tramiel - 85-98
[Hasbro - 98-2001]
Infogrames - 2001-present

There's no such thing as a "real" Atari. That's a fiction that only exists in your mind.

Don't forget post Tramiel it was owned by that one disk company, who sold it to Hasbro, who sold it to Infogrames :P

Tramiels - 85-96
JTS - 96-98 Or was Tramiel still in during the JTS time?
Hasbro - 98-2001

I hope not. A console would be the death of the new Atari... just like what almost happened to Sega. Let Nintendo,Son,yMicrosoft waste their money on hardware. Atari and Activision and other companies can focus on making great games.

Besides Atari's history with consoles is not pretty:
2600 - almost failed but then Space Invaders saved it. Success.
5200 - flopped.
7800- - flopped
Lynx - flopped
Jaguar 64 - flopped

Atari should stay away from consoles (so should Nintendo, but that's a different topic).

Hey, Colin McRae Rally 3 is by Code Masters, not Atari.

I don't blame the French for not wanting to go to war in Iraq and I'm American and fought in the first Gulf war. French leaders were just doing their job and looking out for France's econimic interests. You don't see the US going to war with Saudi Arabia, yet that is where most of the terrorists and funding for terrorism comes from.

Compared to Hasbro, Infogrames is doing an excellent job with the Atari brand. BTW, I think most people would consider the "real" Atari to be the Bushnell/Time Warner/Tramiel era. Some of same products were produced and some of the same people worked at Atari during those times. Now Atari is just a name brand. Maybe if the new Atari hired some of the old Midway West(Atari Games) people and maybe Jeff Minter and a few others to make games, it would feel more like the old Atari.

I don't have a problem with the Iraqis.... I have a problem with Saddam. It maybe an extreme comparison... but it is not an unfair comparison.

I don't have a problem with French Canadians or EA.

I do have a problem with French policy.

Is that clear enough for everyone!?!?!

I am dropping the subject. I don't want to start hating people here. Plus I can see where this is going... I don't want to go there.

You have a real hate problem... And you already "went there".

It's probably a good thing the REST of the world, is not as vengeful as you are. Just think about how many people have posted here, saying how ludicrous YOUR POLICY is. Maybe we should all boycott the US now! Sound stupid? Sure does....Exactly like what you said!

You are as bad as the person you are protesting. To show your disdain, which is ultimately for Saddam Hussein and not the French, which you already admitted, you would support economical sanctions against the common citizen of France? Will you take responsibility for starving their children out of disdain for their political leaders?

While you're out trying to starve children and steal medicine from the needy, remember that is exactly what you were protesting against Saddam Hussein doing.

Congratulations on your boycott Mr. Husse...err I mean MR hypocr....errrrr whatever yer name is.
