...and was wondering what are some good DC fan sites with forums and information? Also, my DC is LOUD!!!, it makes all kind of scary sounds when its booting the CD's, are everyone's DC's like this? Oh, and one more thing, I've heard about the CD copying for the DC and was wondering what is legal and what is not? I'm under the impression you must own a version of a game before you can burn a copy? Where do you go to burn DC games?...Kazaa? Thanks in advance :D

#1 all DC's are loud, all sound like a 747 taking off.

#2 gamefaqs.com is a good place for chats, and reviews.

#3 the whole copying games thing is a topic much better left for somewhere else, very touchy subject here.

Copying games is illegal, but there's very little chance you'll get punished for it. Plus, it's extremely easy to do for the Dreamcast since there's no need for a mod chip.

Personally, I'm against piracy in general... but I do have a handful of burned games. All of them are games that I haven't been able to find, or were exhorbitantly expensive when I did find them. I plan to get replacement "real" copies eventually... and personally, I feel that any game that wasn't released in North America (Like Rez, Shenmue II, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, Capcom Vs. SNK 2, etc) is up for grabs. If Sega won't allow me to buy it, then I'll just take it.

It's also the only way you'll get Half-Life for the Dreamcast. Oh, and in case you didn't know about it, there's some pretty interesting stuff over at this site. It's surprising what people have been able to make this machine do.

Lots of things you can do with that DC besides play some really great games. Turn your DC into a divx player or Mp3 player.
For a good list of utilities check this page.

What kind of noises is your Dreamcast making? There's a fan inside the system, so there'll always be at least some noise. The mechanism that moves the laser back and forth provides a decent amount of noise in my system, but there shouldn't be any other noise. Depending on the game, the laser may be moving back and forth faster or more often, thus making more noise.

It's also worth pointing out that in my experience burned CD's often lead to more laser movement noise... but maybe it's just my imagination.

I am in total agreance with Ze_ro on this one. I have many DCasts and have collected a lot of games. I am now up to 170+ originals (I Beleive one of the Alberts was doing this as well, how about an update Al?) and my goal is to collect the entire NA release list. (before I die if at all possible) The only copies I have are games that I have still yet to aquire.

As far as Imports go, Ze_ro is still right; if you don't make it available to me, do not call me a thief because I want to play it. Allthough the only burned import I have is Ikaruga , a few others like DOA 2 & Shemue 2 I have the originals. I'm still looking for Rez...

Whom else here is collecting for the DCast?

As Always,
Markimus of DreamCast.

i have nearly 120 games for my DC, but a fair number are imports, and for the moment, i dont plan on buying every single game, as champoinship surfer and other games just do not appeal to me whatsoever. I have a burned copy of REZ, Space Channel 5 part 2, and Ikaruga (as well as some other imports), but i Did pick up REZ for PS2, and i plan on getting Ikaruga in the near future.
