Just for kicks, has anyone tried to do this? I mean, the ridiculous design doc aside, has anyone given this a shot? I've considered trying something, just for kicks. I've been wanting to take a crack at the music, and I guess if we got that down, we'd be halfway there.

This thing has community project written all over it, ya know?

Jarod.

Jarod's way of telling us he has been drafted into Team Savage! :)

Dude, don't laugh! I happen to know several Internet Cafe managers who are warm to Basic. With their help, I project quarterly earnings somewhere in the 10 to 11 dollar range. Our biggest design challenge right now is how to fit Hasselhoff's hairdo into 4k.

Yep, you're absolutely right! This would be a nice community project! I already made the title-screen, now you just have to make the rest of the game! :D

Ah, haven't read this in more than a year. Second best thread on the internet, behind only the mastery that is BloodNinja.

I can only hope that this Knight Rider game is a million times better then the cack ocean software put out centuries ago on the speccy/c64 etc (that one was roundly slagged off)

I heard that only two things would survive the apocalypse--cockroaches and Keith Richards.

Heh ... glad to see this thread survived through the forum upgrades. May it last through many more!

And yes, I'm still waiting with bated* breath to see what HardWork and his friends from Kinko's bless us with. Because if it's taken this long, it must be something really spectacular, right?

*Yes, that's "bated," not "baited." No bait here, unless you're talking about HardWork's business plan.

OK, last post for the day:
The game might be posted in the 5200 forum, but the code will get rewritten a few times as it mutates to the 2600 environment. The 2600 audience is still the target, but we'll see how it goes, the whole thing is still early. :)
I have clearly stated from the first post that I'm new to the 2600, but not to hacking. I'm warm to BASIC programming, and I'm no dummy. Also, I've had two guys jump on board this last week. One is a good friend of mine of 10 years, who was the first to know of KR2600, at the New Year. The other fellow I met by chance, whom works at the print shop where I have been producing my storyboards. These guys are no dummies, either.
Both have pledged full support after absorbing the content of my early work, & the content of this site. This week we have formed the Team, christened it with the "Savage" name, and have gotten little sleep since then. :D
Thanx, everyone.
James
Quoted for posterity. It's almost beautiful, in its own way.

At this point, HardWork might as well make it a game based on Knight Rider 2010. But then he and his friend at Kinko's would have to run off a whole new batch of design documents and storyboards, so maybe not. After all, that's the most difficult part, right? The coding can't be so bad since we all know HardWork is already warm to BASIC.
