I noticed that there are more games being made for the GC that have the ability to use a GBA. As someone who doesn't own a GC I have a few questions.

1.How does it hook up to the GC?

2.Do you have to have your own power supply or does the GC send power thru the link cable?

3.Have you played any games that were improved by the use of the GBA?

4.How many (percentage wise) GC owners do you think also own a GBA?

I don't pose these questions to start any kind of trouble. I just downloaded a video of the new GC Pac-Man game and this game uses the GBA feature. From the Video it appears you must have a GBA to use the four player feature. Seems like in a single player game like Zelda or Splinter Cell having to keep track of both screens could be hard. I was just curious as to how this feature worked as I will someday own a GC but will probably never own a GBA. I don't game on the go and won't buy one just to unlock different features on a GC.

1. You hook it up with a cable to the GC. http://www.gamestop......uct_id=801381

2. The GBA has to have batteries in it and that is a concern... Unless of course you have a GBA-SP which runs forever on a single charge ;)

3. I've played Zelda with it and yeah it does add a little something. Mainly some secret stuff you can find in dungeons, and it can set off bombs remotely, and it brings up some hidden rupees here and there. It also gives you info on enemies. Mostly unecessary stuff, but still fun to do it you want.

4. How in the heck would I know :P

We use it on Zelda WW too, and it's pretty fun to be honest. Yes, you have to use batteries or plug it in to an outlet (which I do), but the GBA physically plugs into one of the joystick ports on the GCN.

This is Nintendo's gimmick o' thee year, and I for one plan to utilize it on the new upcoming Pac-Man game. One person plays Pac-Man on the GBA, up to three others play on the TV set & GameCube split screen as ghosts, trying to find Pac-Man like in a FPS!

GC-GBA conectivity is pretty cool, but it's not the thing of the future like Nintendo wants it to be. Maybe they think it will replace online gaming...

The cord is really easy to use, and plugs into a controller slot. It works with both the SP and regular GBA. So far, all the games that have used it have, it really hasn't been essential. It added alot to Animal Crossing, but I don't think very many people are still addicted to that.

I think it improves gameplay, but isn't necessary at all.Sure it's cool and all but you don't really need it.Maybe if a game comes out that really uses it(moreso than AC)more people will start using it.

That right there is worth the buy.

I haven't taken advantage of this feature yet, but I plan on it.

OG GBA has no AC jack. Batteries or third party battery pack only. I have a Gamecube and a GBA, and yeah, it did make Zelda a little more fun. In fact, the only Gamecube games I plan on buying in the near future were chosen specifically because of GBA connectivity.

It was nice to beat Metroid Fusion on the GBA and then link it up to the GC Metroid Prime to play the original NES Metroid on the Cube. Though this Metroid seems MUCH harder than the orignal NES one; maybe its just the controller, I don't know but I die ALOT!

The AC plugs made for it fit into the battery slot. Thus no need for jacks, and no one can use a generic power supply.

That's kinda asinine on Nintendo's part, unless they have a deal going with the battery manufacturers of the world.

I used in on Wind Waker... it was kind fun, but not neccessary to the game.

Most EA Sports Games for 2004 will take advantage of the feature....

.... I am looking forward to it.

It's making the world of difference to Zelda as far as I'm concerned. it's just great to be able to run around in this clever little world with my wife as assist. I love co-operative videogaming.

Just to jump slightly off-topic for a sec, I think it would be in Nintendo's best interest to make the GC-GBA connectivity benefit the GBA side of games a bit more. Most of the "unlock this/do that" extras opened by the connectiivty benefit the GC games. If Nintendo wants this to sell more GCs, giving current GBA owners an incentive to buy one would be more worthwhile than just trying to make us current GC owners want to buy a GBA. There's far more GBA's out there right now than GC's.

Nintendo SHOULD have put four buttons on the GBA's face like they said they would, so the GBA connectivity could serve more as a controller than a HUD.

Or better yet, one of those little cool mini analog sticks like the Pocket Neo Geo thing has....that would be cool for whatever comes next from Nintendo.

The stick on the NGP wasn't analog, it was just small, and very very cool.
