So, I noticed the news that Nintendo plans on bundling the GBA player with the Gamecube in the future... this made me wonder: can this be used as a replacement for connecting an actual GBA to the machine? Since there's no screen on the unit itself, I don't imagine you'd be able to play the new Pac-Man game on it... but what about stuff like the Pokemon game that was mentioned a while back? Or using Animal Crossing cards through an eReader? Is any of this possible through the GBA player? Or is it just there to play GBA games on a TV?

... and what about multiplayer? Is there a link port?

I know the GBA Player can be linked with a GBA. You can have one person playing on the TV and linked with other gamers playing on one or more GBA's for multi-player.

I would think you could use a eReader with the GBA Player, but I don't know for sure.

yes you can use an e-reader, and you can link to a regular GBA for multiplayer games. In fact, on a game like Bomberman, both players can use the TV set :D

This thing is one reason why I'm considering buying a gamecube. I can't be bothered buying the super expensive GBA SP (Which is More expensive then a Gamecube). The GBA SP is about US$130, and the Gamecube is about US$100. It would probably cost the same if i Got the GBA player and the Gamecube bundle, cause I reckon it would be about US$130-150 all up, which is decent compared with the price of the GBA SP.

Uhm, what are you talking about?

The sticker price (and MSRP) of the GBA-SP is $99.95. I may not be up on current happenings, but the GC was still $149.99 last I checked.

The $149.99 does include a game (or is that the $189.99 pack?), but they're all games heading for the $20 bargain status, so you're really not getting that good of a deal.

My mistake then. But the way the post was phrased, it looked as if the prices being quoted were US prices, not currency conversions.

Personally, I'd say to get the GBA-SP. I think it has better games than the GC anyway. :D

Sorry for the Confusion 8)

I'm still considering what to get, I'm just trying to find a cheaper price for the GBA SP, since I have liked it since it was first annouced. The Gamecube game prices here are still very high. However, I might wait awhile as the GBA has no games that I currantly like, but the Gamecube had some that I'd really want. Remember, it's all about the games, and like the range of gamecube games offered at the moment, but I'm not terribly interested in the GBA's rnage of games at the moment.

Bundling the Gamecube with the Gameboy Player adapter? Sounds like a good idea. Only wish the adapter didn't have to require a start-up disk in order to play the Gameboy carts. But still something to look into possibly purchasing.

The GBPlayer is only connectable to a Gamecube games if you have a second gamecube. The GBPlayer basically turns the gamecube into a GBA with a TV for display.
