I dunno...from what I've heard, most people are waiting around for 2 to hit the stores rather than spend any more on expansions

Is there a 2 planned? I haven't heard anything. Maxis has gotten so much money on this damn game and all the expansion packs from me..I've bought every single one twice (for Mac & Pc).

Has anyone played SimCity4? That game frustrates me too...much more difficult than SimCity3000.

http://www.gamers.co...e/1366366/media

It's supposed to have better character interaction (no more standing around shrugging or going to the bathroom via the front door to the back door), route mapping independant from tiles (so you can't be boxed in by a little plant or something), the ability to build an attic/basement, etc., and what people have been hacking the game to do...aging sims.

Another Sims game?

The original one was ok..but I got sick of pretending to have a life and went out and got one.

Wow, it's coming from every which direction tonight.

Thanks for the link Nukey, the game could definitely use the improvements you mentioned.

I wasn't directing anything negative towards you.

I owned the original game for PC and I thought it was cool at first but after a while, it became addicting and kind of pointless. I'd just keep my Sims home all the time until they were unemployed and underfed...LOL.

As for SimCity, I'm a big fan of this series. I have SC3000 and I might try SC4 once I get a better PC..cuz my PC can't handle SC4.

i love the game, its so much fun to torture the sims and make them piss all over themselfes and sleep in it and die while lighting a fireplace in a room with wildflowers on the ground and a couch in front of the door... ahhhhh... i hope the sims 2 has new ways to kill them :P

I agree Liquid.

This is perhaps the only reason to own the game.

I pretend that the Sims are someone that I don't like and then make them suffer in every imaginable way!

I remember there was a code you could enter in order to get nude Sims. Also a way to make nude skins for the Sims.

No code, but a couple of blank .cmx files to override the default blur.
And if you want your sims to "act adult", search google for Openlea Landomann

It's pretty funny in the downtown area. Stick a bunch of those beds in an empty lot and watch the preversions ensue...right in front of the kid sims :P

Damn!

Can you do this with the basic game? Or does it have to be with the dating expansion pack?

It would be a thrill but then I'd get sick of the game all over again..LOL.

I think that you need a Livin'Large or higher expansion, since it was the first to have beds made for more than just sleeping in (there would be no way to code the animations in, since the basic game only has the sleep animation).

If you're a sick puppy, you can add a simslice agechange door

I'm getting sick and tired of all these lame expansion packs, after 3 years of them. You'd reckon they;d just create a whole new game, the gameplay way is aging and is getting out of date and is very limited. Allso, the whole game, with all the Expansion packs takes up a Whopping 4.7GB (Estimate), which isn't terribly good for people who still have a 10GB HD.

Um...Sims 2 is about to hit the stores. And it's a new game (not an expansion)

To me, the expansions are no more lame than Flight Simulator area disks

I know about Sims 2, Just forgot about it while writing. When I vent, I seem to forget various things :P . I'm not complaining aqbout dish space, since I have 25GB free, but I wonder how much the next game will take up. 1.5GB?

I guess the expansions packs are getting a little old. I still buy them and enjoy them, but my attention span is much shorter than it used to be with the Sims.

I'll get sucked in again with Sims 2 though I'm sure.

Yeah, but Maxis forgot to put little sim cyanide capsules in the game...in case the player is a complete nimrod
