As far as spaces, whenever I burn a DC cd, spaces in filenames automagically get replaced with an underscore. I have no idea when in the process this happens.

With the way I did my Nester disc, I managed to get spaces in the filenames, and the menu looks pretty slick since it shows the game name without abbreviations, extensions, and even with proper capitalization. Yeah, I'm a perfectionist :P I'll give it a try with spaces and such and see what happens... it's not like I don't have a ton of blank CD's....

Well, it'll take me a while to download enough ATR files before I burn a disc, so it looks like I have a full day ahead of me :)

By the way, anyone have any luck with [D]Colem? I tried burning a copy of it last night, and it just hangs at the Sega copyright screen. I didn't use the CDI from DCEmulation though, so the problem was probably my fault.

The Colecovision emulator is terrific on the DC.

I haven't been able to get Turbo to run on mine, is there some 'controller' or startup trick I'm missing?

As far as the other emulators I've got, the SNES one is ok, but some games do not work properly, the MAME is hit and miss, still trying to figure out the Colecovision one, the Genesis one I have has the worst interface I've ever seen and gameplay is hit or miss as well.

The best one I've seen is the Nester DC, no problems there, which is great because I've never owned a NES, and now will never need to.

The ones I haven't tried yet are are the SMS, Gameboy & the Atari ones.

Ze_ro: PM me if we can rectify this...

That's a thought...emulating a DC on the PC emulating a PC.  Those high-end systems might make those old Dos classics playable again.

Due to laziness i really dont know whether quake is rewritten or if there is a frontend to emulate. The load screens are all the same as the PC. The concept of playing old dos games on a dc would be pretty cool i think, Does this class as emulation??? I mean whats a PC? A 2600 with a keyboard?

The Coleco emulator is by far the best, well at least about 18 months ago when i didnt own the console. Mame was soughtta ok at the time, Nester was a hassle to run and the snes emulator was very slow.

Try Bleem!, i heard thats just craptacular :)

Oh, and by the way... does Nester not work with Legend of Zelda 2, or do I just have a bad rom?
You have a bad rom

Yeah, it turns out that I did... I should have run GoodNES on them before I burned I guess. Turns out that Marble Madness was a bad rom too, and crashes shortly into the game. Maybe I'll burn another disk with fixed roms, and give the old one to my brother (I wouldn't mind doing this anyways, since I made a handful of mistakes the first time... forgot TMNT 1, had the Japanese version of Bump 'n' Jump and Megaman 4, etc)

However, I still have a fairly long list of games that don't seem to work:

Games that show just a black screen:
Adventures of Rad Gravity
Alfred Chicken
All-Pro Basketball
Bigfoot
Castle of Dragon
Death Race
High Speed
L'Empereur
Mig-19 Soviet Fighter
Pinbot
Robocop 3
Stadium Events
Tiny Toon Adventures 2
Treasure Island Dizzy
Wally Bear & The No Gang
Widget
Win, Lose or Draw
Zen - Intergalactic Ninja

Games that show just a black screen, yet play sound effects:
Castle of Deceit
Cliffhanger (white screen instead)
Gyruss
Silent Assault (Music sounds garbled)

Games that screw up in other ways:
King of Kings (Flashing garbage on screen)
Ninja Kid (Garbled graphics)
Rygar (Glitchy, and quickly hangs)
Skull & Crossbones (Flashing garbage)
Tiles of Fate (Game quickly hangs)
Videomation (Refuses to start)

Obviously, this is pretty decent considering that this is a relatively small number, since I burned hundreds of roms onto the disc... and most of the games are rather forgettable. However, not having Rygar or Gyruss kind of sucks. Can anyone confirm that any of the above work with NesterDC? I've been using version 7.1, which I was told had slightly less compatibility than 7.0 due to changes in the sound system. I should also point out that all of the above roms were good according to GoodNES

I'm fairly sure they ported the source code... writing a whole emulator to play Quake would be quite a task! I was actually looking forward to Quake on the Dreamcast, until I found out that it has no mouse support :( Playing FPS games with the DC joypad doesn't work well for me... I'll just continue playing the game on my PC.

I could check sometime later tonight or so. However I know for a fact that I Gyruss & Rygar work great on mine.

What version of Nester are you using? One of the replies I got over at the DCEmulation forum was that 6.0 was quite possibly the most compatible... although it lacks light gun support. Perhaps if I get around to burning another copy, I'll make it a 6.0 and see what happens...

Well, I borrowed a Nester disk that my friend made, and for some reason, a lot of the roms he has work better than the ones I have... Using the roms on his disk with my Nester 7.1, the following games now work:

Adventures of Rad gravity
All-Pro Basketball
Bigfoot
Castelian
Castle of Deceit
Mig-29 Soviet Fighter
Ninja Kid
PinBot
Silent Assault
Tiles of Fate
Videomation
Win, Lose or Draw

However, the following games work fine with his version of Nester 6.0, but NOT with my 7.1:

Alfred Chicken
Battlechess
Castle of Dragon
Cliffhanger
Death Race
High Speed
Legend of Zelda 2 (Even with bad rom)
Marble Madness (Even with bad rom)
Tiny Toon Adventures 2
Rygar
Zen - Intergalactic Ninja
Widget

And the following games work on neither 6.0 or 7.1:

Gyruss (Damn!)
L'Empereur
Stadium Events
Skull & Crossbones
Robocop 3
Wally Bear & The No Gang

I don't see why his version of the roms works when mine don't... GoodNES didn't find any problem with them. Perhaps it's some sort of header on the rom that Nester doesn't understand (Note that all my copies of the roms from the first list (the Rad Gravity to Win, Lose or Draw list) also didn't work with 6.0). Weird. I also don't see why neither copy of Zelda 2 works on 7.1, yet both work on 6.0... even weirder.

Sucks that neither Rygar, Marble Madness, Zelda 2 or Gyruss works with 7.1... Might be worth losing light gun support just for them... If anyone happens to have a copy of onoe of those four that does work with 7.1, please let me know!
