My brother in law is crazy for sport games. He also loved to play sports. I have concluded that I'm lucky not to like sports. I like startrek instead and so I don't have to worry about that many games. Lets see hmm, how many startrek games are their for the atari? Um, one.

I used to think that sports games sucked too until I played the ones for the Dreamcast. NFL2Kx, NBA 2Kx, and Virtual Tennis are a blast! WSB2K2 is pretty good too.  :D

I stand Corrected, Virtua tennis is brilliant. But that is where i draw the line.

What's a good baseball game for the Cube? I'm kinda ooking for one. I'm not much into sports games either, but I want to re-visit the genre..

It all comes down to taste. I love sports games (except baseball) and to me, nothing is more boring than Final Fantasy type games, they put me right to sleep.

You really have to be a sports fan to truly appreciate sports games. Most of my teams are under-dogs so I really enjoy winning the National Championship title with them. Its no suprise to me that sports games hold a large share of the market. The Superbowl, the World series, the NBA playoffs and college championships get the highest ratings on tv, are the lead stories on the news and on the front page of newspapers from coast to coast.

I think alot of folks enjoy playing as their hero. Like Michael Jordan, John Elway or Gretzky. Being able to do super athletic things is alot of fun. Most people will never be able to do these things, but they can through these games.
