I predict that when the PS3 eventually comes out that the XBOX will still have the specs to compete with it! I think the PS3 will not be compatible with PS1 games, but compatible with PS2 games, also I think it will have a Hard Drive in it, as well as a broadband adaptor but no dial up capibilities! I predict that the Game Cube will compete against the PS3 and fail! causing Nintendo to withdraw from the console market. I predict that Microsoft will compete against the PS3 for a year or two befor they themselfs design a new system, one that it capable of running the XBOX's libray of games! I predict that Sega willcome out with a system to compete against the PS3 and after all of that with the "other" companies desinging their systems after Sony debute of their PS3 the "other" systems will be technically better just like things are now, it's just the PS3 will have a bigger collection of games behind it. what do you guys think?

I predict things will go badly for Sega and the company will colapse.
And Info-Atari will buy the rights to Sega and their Marketing people will have
no idea what to call the company anymore
Microsoft will lower the price of the X-box to $1 and squeze everyone out of
the market. An ensuring Anti-trust case spends several years in appeals and
is thrown out on a technicality.
Nintendo will go back to making cards.
1 year latter Microsoft starts making cards
Info-Atari-Sega buy the rights to Nintendo and the company collapses under
the weight of so many corporate logos.

And I will continue to collect classic video games

I predict that the Xbox2 controller will be so big as to render it virtually unplayable....but in a savy marketing move will release a smaller version named controller XP. Halo 3 will be announced as a launch title but be delayed until "hell freezes over". Their console will already come with a modchip installed and piracy will reign supreme.

I predict the next GC controller will be in a shape that god never intended to be created. Players will be forced to have a finger amputated and reattached just in order to be able to hit their "Z" button. In a bold move their launch titles will a be updated sequels of N64 games.

I predict that the PS3 will have the exact same internals as the PS2 but will tell people that it's improved. The people will believe and Sony will still reign as console champions. Sony will be so concerned with the handheld side of gaming and neglect their home versions just to reduce Nintendo to a "Sega state". GTA 4 becomes the single biggest seller as people who don't even own a PS3 buy one because they hear it's great.

I predict someone on this forum will take my predictions too seriously and get all bent out of shape. I predict someone will tell me I'm a fanboy and that their next console will in fact "own". I predict I will play too much Halo today. I predict that I had alot of spellling errorrs. I'm done predicting.

I predict that Nintendo will take its next system online with so many great online launch games that it will take back its half of the market. Yay!

The PlayStation 3 will sell a record number of copies on launch day, but due to a hardware defect, they will all work improperly. There will be so many systems out that Sony will be unable to replace them all in a timely manner so the public will suddenly get pissed off at Sony and stop supporting them.

Microsoft's next system will come with a 3D headset. Unfortunately, once it is found out that it induces subliminal messages to "Buy Microsoft," they will be sued and shunned by the gaming community, especially after a bunch of teenage gamers has to be hospitalized due to an acute Microsoft addiction.

And finally, the Phantom will be the next big thing.

I predict that Mattel will begin making consoles again. They unleash "Intellivision 4", a 3,866,822-bit console based on vector graphics. The PS2 falls to it and is never looked at again. Atari then buys the company (Mattel.) and stops production of the Intellivision 4 and decides to make little musical key-chains that look like pianos and play "Piano Man" when the button is pressed. Nintendo and Microsoft soon look into this, and focus all of their market strength on little keychains instead of video games. The video game "Fad" has ended. But from the smoke, two words are written on a subway's wall.....

i beleive there is an availible job at the weekly world news, i think you have a shot at it, if you want it.

Microsoft won`t use the X-Box to compete with the Playstation 3, that wouldn`t bring in as much money as a new console would, and after awhile people get tired of stuff and want something new. And Nintendo won`t back out of this next race either, and they won`t compete with the Playstation 3 using the gamecube, they`ll have a new console as well.
and no way in heck is Sega coming back with it`s track record and how in debt they are.
I just don`t see how this could possibly even somewhat happen, i see a better chance of Atari coming back than Sega(For right now)

I am serious, thats What I think will happen. but it's my opinion, which means that you dont have to take it seriously. like everyone else, just have fun with this thread, maybe we will have enough bizzar predictions that we will actually see, trough a combination of different peoples predictions, the actual outcome of consoles to come!

I predict that Dion Dakis will buy up every video game and console out there, put stickers on all the games, cases, manuals, boxes, consoles and controllers, thus rendering them worthless, yet sell them at inflated prices exclaiming about their rarity and how hard they are to get.
He will then file a blanket copyright/patent to cover any idea for future gaming systems, so as to exert complete control over the industry.

i predict some company will introduce an anime inspired new way to play tic tac toe. kids will spends gajillions of dollars on special cards like "double X" and "destory all corner Os" and other great "enhancements" to the "classic" game.

i also think reality tv will come full circle with the announcement of the NEW NEW Let's Make a Deal! The only major difference is that when a contestant gets a "zonk" prize, they will actually be FORCED to keep it, and cameras will do follow up reports, and get confessional interviews, scooping the dirt on what life is like with a herd of pigs dressed in baby clothes running throughout the house.

O.k serious prediction. I predict Sony will be the first out of the gates again
but they won't wait until the competition arrives to lower the price's.
Every man and his dog will now buy the PS/2 which will drop in price to PSX
standards with a built in hard disk and BBA. PS/3 will be compeating "directly" with the
current consoles and despite a lack of killer launch title games the installed
user base will be at least 70% of the market as a New generation of gamers
start bugging their parents for a PS/3.
Of course this dominance will lead to Nintendo losing a lot of 3rd party
developers to Sony. Finaly giving the Playstation some decent games.
Which only improves it's market share.
Xbox 2 will be the same old story. MS taking a loss for a console that does
everything but play good games

And as for Reality T.V. there will be a show about people who watch Reality T.V.
For roughly 1 hour a day you can watch people "just like you" watching Reality T.V.

As much as I hate to say it, the XBOX will become the next Atari 5200.

Microsoft will spend so much money on another version of Flight Simulator, making it terrorist-proof, that the XBOX2 will be shelved for 2 years and released too late to compete with the PS3 and the NintendoSegaGamethingy..oh wait..I'm thinking of the 7800 here.

The bottom line is....next generation gaming has failed to capture my attention. I'm more interested in the 5200 than the PS3.

In two or three years, the PS3 will come out. I will be buying an Xbox 2 and Nintendo System 5. I don't deal with Sony anymore. Two is enough for me. Until Nintendo leaves, I'll be buying it over the PlayStation x. And as long as the Xbox has LIVE, I'll be using it.

I predict that Nintendo will not give up so easily. They've gotten too far already to do so.

I can't say the same about Microsoft though.
