Anyone know where I can find a good Dreamcast emulator and some roms? I just bought a game for mine (Stupid Invaders). Well, actually for my kid. BUT the DC is in his room and when he isn't playing it, he's in bed and I cant play it! I'm absolutely hooked on that game and want to be able to play it late at night!!!!

There really isn't any working emu for the dreamcast, I would be careful with what you downloaded. If you're brave and want to try it out go to a DC Emulation page and download some free emulators and burn an image or CD to test it out. It won't work :)

Btw, the Dreamcast doesn't use roms, since it's a CD system you usually need an entire .iso or disk image to play a game.

well actually there is a DC emulator but it doesnt do much. i think i heard of it playing a few games just not good enough to be playable something like 5 frames a second or something bad like that. Zophar's Domain has just about every emulator out there and they are all real. if the emulator that you found isnt there then i dont rcommend downloading it as it is most definantly a virus. download the one off zophar if you like, it isnt worth it but hey its your choice. if you have a kid you should have a steady income and the ability to pay $10 for another one and thats the only way youll play the game unless you take your kid's or move it out to your living room.

as for roms ive only been here a few days but i think that rom requests aren't allowed(especially when your looking for roms from a cd system :D ) go buy the games theyre cheap and its easier than downloading a 700+mb file finding the right program to burn it to cd buying the cd and then burning it and hoping it worked right.

I appreceate the lecture in morality. Yes I have an income and $10.00 for another game. I have chosen not to go that route.
Rom requests aren't banned here, unless there's been a recent change. While they may not be encouraged, if you do a quick search you will see TONS of rom requests, and replies. The Dreamcast is a cd system, however it is otherwise no longer in production. If there were profit to be made by the programmers (like ps2/xbox, etc) then it would be a different story.

Why not just go to Funcoland and get another power supply and TV cable? The DC hookup takes 2 seconds and you can move it anywhere you want with almost no effort then.

New software is still being sold, and the DC:Collection Re-releases have
very recently been released with many more to come over the following
months.
The GoatStore just published the first Homebrew DC game to get a release....

The DC is far from dead my friend.

I just bought two new DC games this weekend. You can't justify piracy with the old "the system is dead, no ones making profit" excuse.

If you want to play the games, either move the console you've got to where you can play it, or as was said, go to a store like GameStop and buy a second console.

Not to start a war or anything but those who say that the DC is not dead are just trying to fool themselves. A homebrew release does not mean that the DC is "back in business". And getting iso's or cdi's of DC games in no way hurts the programmers and publishers of those games. Thay are not selling those games at KB Toys or the "R" US stores. You are however hurting retail chains that sell used DC stuff. I'm not condoning piracy at all (no matter what my reputation around here has become) but the DC is in fact a DEAD system. Call up Sega and ask them to ship you out some info on the DC and see what they tell you if you don't believe me. Think I'm full of shat go to Sega's page on the DC - http://sega.com/game...dreamcast.jhtml. If your too lazy to click here you go.

The release of NHL 2K2 marks the end of the Sega Dreamcast's remarkable run. While production of the Dreamcast may be over, the legacy lives on. You can still find Dreamcast games online through Amazon.com. And for a complete list of all 248 Dreamcast titles, take a look at the Dreamcast Checklist. To purchase Dreamcast replacement parts and accessories, please visit www.sega-parts.com.

All that's left is the Legacy. Don't get me wrong I love my DC but it's a dead system.

Thank you puddwakr!
Oh, and in refernce to the "piracy" term....
1) Read my original post. I only want it to play a game I PAID FOR AND OWN!
2) Tell me you've never used an emulator for Atari, SNES or any system and I'll let you know just what animals crap you are full of.

Stop being righteous people. I didn't ask whether or not you think what I'm doing is right. If you can't point me to what I asked for, then move along.

Yikes.

If anyone approves, it causes problems for the whole community. Dreamcast ISOs are very difficult to come by. Almost more difficult than a GDROM drive. When looking for anything in a gray legal area, check Kazaa, Bit Torrent sites, or whichever P2P software you prefer. Just be sure to get equipped with proper protection. Like a firewall and Peer Guardian, with updated IP records.

Regardless of the morality.. there are still plenty of DC games at many Toys R Us stores all over North America.

There is no emulation alternative though...

I wasn't questioning your intentions regarding the emulator. I was just making a suggestion for simple, cheap and easy way for to solve your problem.

Sorry. :( I didn't mean to be quite so all-inclusive of everyone in my rant. Yours was one of the few that was a polite alternative and genuinely meant to be helpful.
A few of the responses were a little too holier than thou which irked me quite a bit.

Please accept my apologies...

I'm confused.. are you looking for a Dreamcast Emulator? Or was it Emulators for the Dreamcast? Or was it just simply Dreamcast ISO's :D

ISO's are easy to get on P2P Programs just do a little research.
