Has anyone bought this game and played it? Do you recommend it?

I've played through the first level. Seemed kind of easy so I'm hoping that it was just a kind of tutorial level. Controls pretty good and the graphics are alright. Has some glithches in it like a guy i beat in a hallway will be half in the hallway and half in the next room, but it's nothing that really detracts from the actual gameplay. I know people who are far in the game and love it. I don't think I've played enough to give it a recommendation but I don't think you would be disappointed if you picked it up.

Yeah, I wanna play the game for the cut-scenes... I hear they actually do add to the Matrix movie experience.... however, I'm not quite sure I'm willing to play thru that whole game just for the movies - esp. since I was a little disappointed with Matrix Reloaded.
I heard that Sony really really pushed this one - like e.t., making one copy for every two PS2s out there... which will leave a whole bunch in the bargain bin someday.

Well, it did sell 1 million copies on all platforms its first week in stores. But we have seen some returns at our store. Not so much from folks not liking it, but we apparently got a batch of the PS2 version that had some pretty serious glitches.

I still haven't seen the movie, and haven't played the game either. But if you're not sure, definitely rent it. Or buy it at a Gamestop/Babbage's/Software Etc. Seven days with your receipt to make a return! :)

Enter the Matrix is a pretty poor game, which just goes to show that a movie director doesn't automatically know anything about gaming.
This is how the game breaks down -
1. Run from one room/street to another fighting guys in a visually impressive but unskilled/surprisingly boring way.
2.You get to a place where something interesting happens- you don't get to play it, a cutscene does the job.
3. See 1

And thats about it apart from the appalingly bad tunnel/sentinel sequence at the end which just...well.. ends and the credits roll.

No, bad game, v. bad game.

GoldenEye

Some Star Wars games

But I usually don't buy movie-based video games EVER.

I played Matrix at a friend's house on his PS2. It was kind of fun to direct cool fight choreography and run up walls, and the driving part was fun, but I probably won't buy the game for my GameCube.

Rent, don't buy.

Did you ever play Tron? :)

I rented the Matrix game and it's pretty fun. Anyone know what to do on the "shoot the airplane tires" level? It didn't have the instructions and I'm not getting anywhere. Maybe because I'm old? ;)

i think there have been good movie based games, but even the ones that have been mentioned do not fit into the great category
