I realy loved Phantasy Star Online on the Dreamcast, the other day I tried to get online and it worked, Sega still has the servers online.
It was a bit like a ghosttown because I was the only one there.
Anyway I was wondering if more people here in this forum would like to join for a game online and hook up?

I would love to but the Broadband Adapter is just too expensive.

Ah man! I didn't know those servers were still up. dammit, just as I switched to cable broadband. if I could get a cheap DC broadband adaptor, I'd be there with you. PSO was fun (but mainly for the community - the gauntlet-alike hack and slash was wearing a bit thin after a while).

Feh, just get the Gamecube version. I got a BBA for my Gamecube for a third of the price it would cost to get one for my Dreamcast.

Do you still have to pay to go online? I've seen PSO (and PSOv2) for cheap everywhere, but I'm not a big fan of MMORPG's, so I'm probably not going to get my money's worth out of it if I have to pay every month...

$10 a month. For a little more, you could play a decent MMO game. Too bad PSO isn't set up like other multiplayer games, where one person could start a server, and its IP would be broadcast to a master list server, and other people could connect to it.

Damn dude, that's sweet. How do you guys rate so good?

I've never played the Dreamcast or the GC versions online because I'm too cheap a bastid to pay the monthly fee.

I played PSO on the DC and it was fun. I tried PSO on the GC and it was a PAIN IN THE BUTT!! Until Datel or someone else makes a keyboard easily available at Target, Best Buy, etc the GC version is terrible because you can't carry on an easy conversation with your friends/team.

Just my opinion.

I got the whole PSO setup for GameCube. The monthly fee isn't expensive, $10 a month and you can try your first month free. What's expensive is the broadband adapter ($40) and the keyboard controller ($100+), and you'll probably have to order the keyboard controller online.

I think you can also order a $40-ish normal keyboard that's separate from the GameCube controller. That'll save you a bunch. After my fist time trying the game out online, I KNEW I'd have to get a keyboard of some kind in order to enjoy the experience.

And now that I have the online setup, I'm pretty pissed that Nintendo isn't putting more games online.

I'll just wair for a PS/2 - Gamecube adapter to come out. Happened for Dreamcast, so it's not a pipe dream.

I'm in NA (Canada) and I know the DCast PSO 1 servers are still up and free. Does anyone know if the PSO 2 servers are up and free or do they still cost to play.

The reason I ask is that I recently got a sealed copy of PSO 2, but if I have to pay to play then I'll probably leave it sealed for the collection.

Up and pay, as I understand it.

As a side note, Sega took down all DC game servers except PSO and PSOv2 earlier this month, if I recall.
