Because they usually look better on the PC and often cost less ($30-$40 for PC vs. $50 for XBOX).  Also, the point is not that you should choose to pay $1000 for a computer to play games instead of $200 for an XBOX.  It's that most people already have a computer to play the games, so why bother throwing another $200 to play inferior versions on a television set?

That being said, I generally prefer to play on a console than a PC due to the stability question.  But the overall point is that many of the XBOX's "exclusives" are really "console exclusives", while most of the PS2 and GameCube exclusives really are.

Well, not to be picky but you really are wrong here. Looking thru the list of Xbox exclusive games, I see a hell of a lot more that I can't play anywhere else than ones I can on the PC as well. I will agree with Nintendo having the most "exclusives" to be found nowhere else but that may be because Nintendo is about the only company developing for the GC anymore :D Just joking.

Now for the online thing - let me make this clear for those who seem to not understand this yet - online for the Xbox is FREE. There are many options for free online gaming for the Xbox. LIVE is an alternate subscription based service for those who want it. Live is an option. even if you pay for Live, it is $50 a year - around $4 a month. I don't see that as being such a huge, horrible amount. I do see complaining about it as a very weak argument. For those who love to make such a huge deal about that $4 a month, why don't you start complaining about Nintendo and Sony making you pay to save games? Don't have to on the Xbox or PC. I mean paying for Live is an option, saving games is not......Or maybe complain that you need to purchase Network adapters for the PS2 and GC for online gaming. Oh wait....did I just type "online gaming" and GC in the same sentence?! My bad..... :D

Finally, I see no point in playing games on a PC personally. I don't wanna squint on this 21" monitor or sit in a chair and a computer desk to play a game. I gotta big screen, nice comfy couch, and around 2000 watts of Dolby Digital Surround or THX at my fingertips. To say playing on a TV is inferior, is bunk. Graphics better on a PC? Perhaps but I suppose if I hooked up my PS2 thru a 21" TV, it may actually appear to have fantastic graphics as well....And I can also say that many games are simply better on a console. Platformers, sports, racing, and quite a few more. RPG's and FPS may be better on a PC to many people, but there many that are better on a console and always will be.

I'm not wrong. I'm not sure you got what I was saying. (Which, of course, could be my fault for not saying it clearly enough.) My point was that a greater percentage of XBOX exclusives are actually console exclusives than GCN or PS2 exclusives. That's basically what I said. Not that most XBOX exclusives were console exclusives.

Also, I clearly didn't say playing on a TV was inferior, I said the versions are inferior (they are) and you would be playing them on a TV. A significant difference.

But that's all I'm going to say on this, since many people (yourself included) just want to use this as yet another system-bashing thread instead of actually discussing the issue at hand.

Arrivederci.

Why is playing them on a M$ Xbox worse than playing them on M$ Windows?

Not to jump to the defense of Starscream here , who never did like my analogy using smarties. :D

BUT, seems that you were the one who sort of told people that an xbox was a waste of money because it's only exlusive titles were really just PC ports....

News flash for you. Many homes still don't even have a computer. Many homes are still using 486's or very early pentiums. Laptops aren't too much fun for gaming (which, incidentally is what I use mainly).
Computers are an absolute pain in the ass for playing games. Download this, reinstall that...Oops...Download new direct X...Cripes...Controller incompatable...Whadya mean I need a new graphics card?!?!? Etc etc.

I would consider the PC a different animal...Not really even comparable.

Amazingly, I didn't really see anyone bash anything in this thread :!: But back to topic, I think my original list is almost all of the XB exclusives I can find minus the ones that I was corrected on and depending if you consider a PC port that is only available on the XB as far as consoles go and not including imports because there aren't many.

I disagree, saving games is an option, I've had my PS2 for over a year and I still haven't worried about buying a memory card for it.

Here is a list of some good XB exclusives off the top of my head:
Halo
Project Gotham Racing
Dead or Alive 3
GunValkyrie
Jet Set Radio Future
Oddworld
Quantum Redshift
The House of the Dead III
MechAssualt
Crazy Taxi 3
Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Sega GT 2002
Moto GP/Moto GP 2
Midtown Madness 3
Brute Force

Some future exclusives that look to be good:
Ninja Gaiden
Fable
Project Gotham Racing 2
Halo 2
Dead or Alive: Online
Sega GT: Online
Sudeki
Otogi
Dino Crisis 3
Psychonaughts
Kingdom Under Fire: Crusaders
Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge

As for the whole PC vs. XB thing, a cutting edge PC is obviously more powerful than an XB. The PC version of a game isn't always better than the XB version though. Wolfenstein on the XB has 7 extra levels, a shotgun, new intro movie, co-op and voice communication for online multiplayer.

This is from the developer Ritual, who is porting Conter-Strike for Microsoft to the XB:
"The XB version is the best looking version of Counter-Strike to date. The XB version will contain higher polygon models, more detailed geometry, updated color themes, and a whole host of Xbox-exclusive effects and graphic features"
- Tom Mustaine, co-owner of Ritual in July issue of OXM.

The XB version of CS will have all the material in CS: Condition Zero for the PC, plus some exclusive weapons. single and multiplayer maps and missions. Mod makers will also be able to make their own maps on the XB version as well.

The GeForce 3 chip in the Xbox is a custom made XB only GeForce chip and is more powerful than the PC GF3. Most XB games also support DD 5.1, HDTV and widescreen.
