Hey there everyone!! I thought I would post a couple of photos of some of my games. I hope you enjoy them!! I call this my own personal arcade. I just got Q-Bert about a month ago. I only paid $250.00 for him!! The Phoenix was only $100.00. VS. Slalom costed $200.00, Zaxxon was $100.00, the first Pole Position was $75.00 , the 2nd one costed $200.00. Frogger costed $100.00. I think I got some great deals!! They are all in really good condition. Frogger, Phoenix, and Zaxxon came out of an old store that was out of business. The Phoenix is pretty close to looking new!! Especially the sideart, it is in near mint condition!! Q-Bert came out of a barn. One of the Pole Position machines came out of an old abandoned mobile home. The machine had been exposed to the weather (rain, snow etc) and it still works perfectly. The other Pole Position and VS. Slalom came out of an indoor flea market in Knoxville, TN. They were both still in service and being used when I bought them, and guess what???,,,,, They were both full of money. So, I got some of my investment back!!!! The Pole Position that came out of the mobile home was a lot of fun to remove. The mobile home sat about 4 ft off of the ground. The machine had to be tilted on it's side and slid down onto the ground. This was quite a feat for two boney ass dudes that literally would sell their souls for an arcade coin op!!! I have no idea what the machine was doing in the mobile home, but the owner had no idea either, but he did want the money for it. I guess someone thought the machine was torn up because it was in the test mode. It only took me about 5 minutes to have it up and running. I choose to leave my games original. I do clean them and I do replace any mechanical parts that affect gameplay, but I will not shop a machine. I kind of like to leave them just as they were in the arcade!! I hope you enjoy my photos!! Two Pole Position machines? Ever have the opportunity to convert one to Pole Position II?

Hey man!! Yeah, the Pole Position on the left had been a Pole Position II at one time. The artwork behind the steering wheel is badly faded, but you can still make out the different tracks that were part of the PP II gameplay and there was also schematic books, service manuals and conversion manuals inside the machine. The reason I have two PP machines is due to the fact that I saw the one machine sitting in the mobile home and I just couldn't bear to leave it sitting there. I guess I have a big heart!!! LOL!!

Very cool. I will have to take some pics of mine sometime. I wish I could get them all in one room like yours. My basement stairs and width restrict me from moving some in the basement. Arrrghh. Blown any fuses yet?

im 14, now if i found an arcade coin op for 75-100 dollars i would buy it and frighten my parents half to death! actualy, now that i think of it, my dad might like it =D how do you even begin to just find arcade machines anyways?

If you are looking...classified ads would be the easiest way to find machines for sale in your immediate area. But I'd say that the asking price is a bit higher (unless the seller is really hot to get rid of it). If there is an amusement company or warehouse near you they might have some bargins.

LOL! No one can ever guess what the letters say. I will tell you what they say. I am a professional videographer. The name of my business is Magic Moments Video. The sign was given to me by a friend who had a business named Magic Moments. Her store went out of business and the letters (sign) were removed from the storefront. She was going to throw it away. But, of course, I had to have them. Hell, they were free. Actaully the entire room where the arcade is is my own personal arcade. I have changed it around some now. At one time, I had all of my games sitting in a circular pattern and had a queen size bed right in the middle of all the games. That way, I could always be near my games, even while I slept, not to mention when you have a friend over for some (fun). Nothing like getting cozy on a bed while Phoenix, Frogger and the other games are watching you!! LOL! In my world, my games are alive! They are like a good ole friend!! The entire room, is highlighted by black fluorescent lights and mirrors that make it like a real arcade. Loud music and a big screen tv, set it off!! My favorite thing is the black lights. They make everything glow. I will get you some more photos soon!! I will also get you some photos in a day or so showing where the games come from. You would not believe where some of these games had been sitting since 1985. They were right under my nose in a store that was out of business. Phoenix was in this store and I passed by this at least 3 times a week. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my tour of my arcade.. I need to set my bed back up in the arcade, so that I can be with my games at all times!!

I'm getting ready to pick up a Puckman and an Asteroids for $175.

Can't beat that! The Asteroids has a blown fuse and the guy needs to get rid of it because of his wife. The Puckman has garbage on the screen... so I hope it is an easy fix. Either way... I figure I have a nice cab and monitor to use for MAME if it doesn't work out!

I don't know where you can find deals like that, but you are REALLY doing well on those two. Puckman IS a Pacman pcb, and if its garbage on the screen, I would bet it just needs the Eproms reseated.

Asteroids will blow a fuse on the monitor if there is a problem. A rebuild on that monitor takes about no time at all. If its another fuse, even easier to find the culprit.

Well.. I just got pictures of the games from the guy. the PUCKMAN is a COCKTAIL which is cool. I was hoping it was the upright because I was actually going to MAKE it look like a PacMan. But that's okay. And the Asteroids looks a little weird to me. I'm not really sure if I've seen the cab before.

This is what the guy said about Puckman:

The puckman does not make noise. I did when I first turned it on. But it went blank then went to a pink purple looking screen. It now comes on but only shows the top score on the top of the screen and it is hard to see. It does not show a color now. I just tryed it. The monitor and the blower motor to cool it, is on it sounds like a computer when it comes on. You know the sound of something electrical running. But no music sound from the game.

Got any clues as to the problem???

And here's the info on the asteroids:

The asteroid game did work for a few minutes but I could not get the screen to stabilze. It came on and the screen looked like a tv that needed the verticle fixed. I left it on for about 15 minutes to see if it would stabilize then a fuse blew. It is easy to see and I will show you when you get here.

Sound like an easy fix as well?

Oh... and the Asteroids cab is weird.... It is Blue... with three missles shooting skyward on the side the control panel has two joysticks (and no buttons ???).... and it looks like a cockpit or something like an airplane. Weird... Let me go look through KLOV to see if I can figure it out...

I've decided that soketime in my life I have to get at least ONE cabinet. Doesn't matter the kind, upright, cocktail, table-top... whatever. I have to get one game.

I don't know which I want though.

Bubble Bobble, Donkey Kong, Mario Bros, Pac Man, etc. I dunno. But I need one.

Looking at the Phoenix cabinet makes me very nostalgic. That is a class video game. I wish I had the room for one video game cabinet. I think I would like it to be, Moon Cresta by Midway. I just love those old games but the oldest arcade game I played recently was operation wolf by taito games. Your acade has got my wishing for loads of games!

Bubble Bobble, Donkey Kong, TMNT IV, TMNT Arcade, Simpsons, even R-Type... There's more, but I'd love one. The ones that make me remember my childhood.

I've hand the best luck just ASKING when I see a machine, at like a gas station or a pizza place or pool hall or whatnot. Just go up and ask the owner if the game is making them much money, and then offer to cart if off for $100 or so. I've gotten a Jr. Pac, Rolling Thunder, and WWF Superstars this way for about $400 total.
