I want to get a pretty complete list of all good 4 player console FPS'. I already know of some, Golden Eye, Perfect Dark, The World Is Not Enough, Agent Under Fire, and Halo. But what are some more solid FPS'?? Anything that can hold up in frame rate is standard pretty much. And ANY console is fine

But FPS refers to it being in 'First Person' and the fact that it is a shooter, so the shooter part is right, but there is no thing as a 'third-person-first-person-shooter'.
and how is Unreal Tournament for DCs frame rate for 4 player?? I heard it can be unplayable

Don't have the DC version, but Unreal Tournament for PS2 generally runs pretty well in 4-player, although you do get the occasional frame rate drop when things get really nuts. My TV is 27", though, and I think that 4-player would really be better on a slightly larger TV.

Quake II for Playstation runs well in 4-player. I don't recall any frame rate issues, but it's been a while.

Unreal's framerate always seems pretty crappy to me, whether DC or PS2. Not unplayable per se, but not good at all.

Quake III for DC is a standout in smooth gameplay.

Time Splitters 2 is also very good, with a lot of variety. I've played it on GC, I assume the other versions stand up as well (pity about the lack of online play tho)

Some random James Bond games have decent deathmatch. What was that first one that came out for GC? I get them all confused. "Agent Under Fire", that's the one. You have to tweak with the settings a bit to get a great game, but its fun.

Haven't done much w/ Turok on the latest set of systems, though the load times and just not that fun rest of it make me wonder if they'd be any good.

Timespltters2 is ace on the Xbox and I hear it is just as good on all consoles & it is made by the same programmers who made Goldeneye and is often considered the sequel.

Brute Force is indeed a third person game, but it is a good one.

I didn't like timesplitters 2. The game didn't have much strategy to it, it seemed. It was basically run around really fast, and snipe people by spraying tommy gun fire at their direction.

Snipe with a tommy gun? Huh.

Well, for lamers like me (sometimes in Quake III I haven't even learned the map; I'm just doing the old run and gun, always in motion) it's great.

Some of the single player stuff is awfully hard though, the challenge missions.

I agree, TimeSplitters 2 is excellent! There is a workaround that you can use to play it online with the PlayStation 2, which you can learn about if you click here. I haven't tried this myself; in fact, I've never actually played the game with other human players at all, but the game is sweet even as a single-player game.

There's a game coming out called Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior, which looks like it might be a good online first-person shooter for the PS2. Click here to read GameSpot's preview.

I agree with Timesplitters 2 (GC), I really like that game and I think it's solid. I have had some hardcore matches with my friends. Also the Bond games for GC. I can't think of many more modern games, but you always have Goldeneye (n64) and Perfect Dark (n64).

Fire Warrior is gonna kick some arse i think, the PC version atleast, haven`t seen anything for the PS2 version. I reserved it last friday, along with Halo PC, BREED and Half-Life2. To many good FPS' coming out this year.
I really don`t see what the fuss is about no online play for a console, if i want online play, i`ll play something on PC, but 4 player deathmatches on a single console is fine for me, or a LAN game between consoles
