I don't know if you'd call it a 3rd party joystick, but I have the Agetec arcade stick for the DC, and it doesn't seem to work with MAMED. I know that MAMED is working properly because I can use a standard controller with no problem. When I use the Agetec stick, I can select my rompack list and select a game, and then the joystick does not respond after that (once MAME actually kicks in). Anyone else have this issue?

I have one question. Does MAMED use the analog joystick or the small directional pad when you are playing the games? If it uses the analog, that's probably why it doesn't work, I think the arcade stick just acts as the directional pad.

You probably already thought of this though :(

Some games will work with the DC Arcade stick in port 1 and a regular controller in port 2. I can then use the right trigger on the DC stick to drop a coin and then start the game off the Arcade stick. BUT, some games still refuse to recognize the Arcade stick and I cannot even start the game from it after doing this process. Weird!
