This was my first RPG purchase ever and needless to say Im not disappointed. Ive been playing it for a few weeks now and Im awestruck by the huge world, the "do whatever the hell you want" gameplay and the ability to make the game as simple or as complex as you desire. If you have an xbox and havent purchased this one, do it NOW. ;)

I have the PC version, which is also very good (provided your machine can run it). I'll try to avoid any debates on the merits/drawbacks of either version, though.

Although Dungeon Siege on the PC was my gateway drug to RPG's last year, it was Morrowind that really hooked me. I can still remember the first few weeks I played the game, with this constant sense of wonder over the world I was exploring. It all seemed so ominous at the time. There's nothing quite like seeing a thunderstorm or ash storm develop for the first time or nervously exploring your first Ancestral Tomb. Now, several dozen hours later (I completed the main quest about a month ago), the sense of wonder is largely gone but I still feel it's a fine game, one of the best I've ever played.

It's my all time favorite RPG. The sheer size of the world is awesome. The game does freeze up randomly however ( had two different copies both did it ). I can't wait till the re-release the game with the expansion packs included. You can even use your saved game from the original on the expansion packs :) . Hopefully the re-release takes care of my locking up problems because aside from that the game is genius. Also if you have'nt played the first two Elder Scroll games on the PC you should pick them up (Arena & Dagger Fall) they are also top notch. Took me about 2 months to solve Morrowind and I still play regularly.

Yeah, the game has froze up on me twice, and once the game got really weird. I "fell through" the city of Balmora into the water directly underneath the city. I couldnt get on solid ground for a while. Id look up at the buildings while swimming below them :?
