I'm hearing that Blues brothers 2000 for the N64 (which isn't that bad) was a rental only. Mine has a clear blockbuster label over the actual label to protect it. Did anyone buy this in the store (considering you bought it all), or was it really rental only (ala Indiana Jones)?

Well, I saw Blues Brothers 2000 on retail shelves (Eb, I think). Most Blockbusters put those labels on their rental carts, no matter the title. That is not an indication of it being rental-only.

And Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine wasn't rental-only, since you could purchase it at the time of release from LucasArts themselves. Still makes it a non-retail release, just not rental-only.

I'm almost positive you could buy this in stores. The only rental-only games for the N64 I remember are Clayfighter 63 1/3: Sculpter's Cut and Beast Wars: Transmetals(which I believe became available for retail purchase later on).

As discussed elsewhere, I know that Razor Freestyle Scooter and NFL Blitz - Special Edition were rental-only.

Not sure what others.

I wasn't using that as indicator that it was rental only, just that I knew for sure mine was a rental.

I want to pick up Indy, seems like a pretty cool game.

It is pretty good. Basically, it's the "Tomb Raider" that the N64 never got. If you find Tomb Raider frustrating, you'll find IJatIM to be much the same. Things like "z-targeting" fix some of the problems with the TR-like nature of IJatIM, but doesn't help with things like problematic camera angles and difficult jumps.

Anyway, it's well worth seeking out as it had a relatively low print run for such a high-profile liscense and, as I stated, it is a pretty good game to boot.

I've become so addicted to Tomb Raider within the last month or so, I have to get Indy. I've never seen it at Funco, though. The price would probably be too high, anyways.

Yes, the Indy game for N64 is a very good choice (if you are into Tomb Raider type games). I think it supports enhanced resolution with the expansion pack.

About the Blues Brothers game, I found it to be a average game with a very generic feel. It has a graphical look similar to Space Station Silicon Valley, Tom and Jerry Fists of Furry and Milo's Astro Lanes. It's not a horrible game, but it's not great either. A rental for sure.
