"All Raods Lead to Classic Gaming" is a short article I wrote on the current state of the industry. It isn't anything to special, just a short rant that I belive to be moderately insightful.

The article can be read at: http://www.vintagegamer.net

Your comments and feedback are appreciated.

P.S. The rest of the site, except for the message boards, is not currently active.

Nifty article, but I'm kinda disappointed in the antidisestablishmentarian attitude a lot of classic gamers have. Just because it's new doesn't mean it inherently sucks. A little complexity is a good thing. Which is more fun? Robot Tank, or patrolling the North African desert in your T-72 looking for dirty American infidel Abrams M1A1s to pound in Desert Combat? I love me some classic games, but I can't throw out the wheat with the chaff when it comes to new games.

Cool, a huge word and an apt metaphor! I WIN AT TEH ENGLISH!

Oh, I agree... there are a few good titles out there.

But so many of them are remakes... it just gets on my nerves when I get bored with video games.

Not big enough. I've been saying and spelling Antidisestablishmentarianism since 8th grade. :D Sure did impress the other kids though.

I was doing that in 4th grade for the Ohio state spelling bee, along with quagmire (which I used in Bookworm to get major points a few months ago), and sesquipedalian. Of course when I got there, the pronouncer was high on mushrooms or some shit. Every person he pronounced for spelled the word wrong, BECAUSE HE PRONOUNCED EVERYTHING WRONG. My word was specifically, but that fucking cockbiter pronounced it spessafickallie. Needless to say I was thrown for a loop and an immelman. After he fucked two more people up, they swapped him for someone with at least a minimal grasp of the fucking english language, but didn't give the people who were counted out do-overs! If that guy isn't already dead, I'll kill him myself. I got a dictionary just for showing up, Webster's 9th Collegiate, hardcover. I read it front to back, and as a result my vocabulary is a far sight higher than the average Joe's.

KILL!

Everybody experiences unfairness during school. This teaches you two main things: That life is sometimes unfair, and that teachers are deranged. Don't take it so seriously :)

Not really.

My school wasn't unfair at all at any point. I was lucky. :P

Don't even get me started about school. My highschool erased my ninth grade credits (all 15+ of them) because I opted out of the "S.T.E.P" program they had me in. In that program, I couldn't take electronics classes. So they cancelled 80% of the credits I needed to graduate, and put me in Electronics 2, instead of 1. The whole class failed, and the teacher retired.
