Recently from what I've seen TRU was the only store with lots of new Dreamcast games still on the shelves. Main reason was probably because they were still all priced in the $20-$50 price range.

Went in today. I don't know how long it's been like this, but it seems TRU has finally got with the program and slashed prices on their DC games. Some where still in the teens, but several were at $9.90 - I picked up a copy of Mr. Driller. Fun puzzler.

What is TRU anyway? And is there one near me? God, I wish they hadn't closed down Toy Liquidators, that would have been my best chance for new DC games and maybe some Saturn stuff and such.

I wish I knew where there was a Goodwill nearby.

Toys 'R' Us! I haven't been there in YEARS! I should make a pilgrimage this week. Maybe mine will have some stuff too.

I try to make a TRU trip about once a month. I can usually pick-up a GameCube game or two for $10 - $15 and they always seem to have some good deals on GBA stuff.

Thanks for the heads up, I need to dig out my DC list and head over to Toys R Us stores before all the games I need are gone. :)

Me too. Tomorrow I'm gonna make a trip there. And the mall across from it. I should come away with at least SOMETHING for my "troubles".

All the other stores that used to carry Dreamcast games - Best Buy, Circuit City, FYE to name a few - slashed prices on DC games to the $9.99 range many months ago, and as a result blew out their inventory. I don't see DC games at those stores at all anymore.

TRU still had a good selection though. But the reason was their prices were still too high. I would stop in periodically, usually looking for first generation Transformers reissues which are TRU exclusives, and would always walk through the video game department. I'd look at the DC games - yeah, they had them, more variety, but the prices were still too high, so I didn't buy anything.

So it was a pleasant surprise Saturday to see them marked down, finally! I only got Mr. Driller, but I also saw Street Fighter Alpha 3 for $9.90. I didn't get it - not a big fan of the Street Fighter games anymore since SF II on the Genesis. DOA2 and Soul Calibur fulfill my fighting games needs on my DC.

At christmas they had a 50% off sale on DC stuff, i assumed they would have left it at 50% off to clear them out...But i was wrong. They still have a whole rack of them for full price... I'm dobuting that anyone's buying them either.

A3 sucked on the dreamcast anyway. The best sf game on that system is SF3-3rd strike. Really fun title, and pretty deep gameplay too.

They make Broadband adapters for the DC? I'd like one if I don't have to pay a fee for certain games.

Speaking of Typing..

Anyone know if the Dreamcast Keyboard and Mouse are useful in anything now? I suppose when the internet service was opened, it could be used in some games. The GS has one of each used and they're begging me to buy them just for keeps. But I wanna know if there's any reason to.

the keyboard is super cheap, and typing of the dead is really really fun

the mouse can be used in games like quake, but if you really want to play a shooter, your mac should be able to do a better job

I'm only into a select few shooters. DOOM, GoldenEye and Perfect Dark. And the later two are on the N64. Sometimes I prefer to use a controller. Actually, I hate using mice to play shooters. But is there any other reason to get that mouse if it's still there?

I know they don't have Typing of the Dead, but that's not to say I won't get it eventually, I'd like to collect all 148 US DC games. I have 9 so far. And I'm bound to get Typing sooner or later.

But for the mouse. What else can it go for?

The keyboard was only for the internet access feature. I suspect it will be very collectible one day, as well the "Fishing Reel" and "Zapper". Buy them all up now. :D

Well, they have the keyboard, mouse and fishing reel. But I haven't seen the zapper there in a while. I'll keep an eye out for it.

What games would the Zapper work on?

Well, I grabbed the Keyboard and Mouse today. Turns out the Fishing Reel isn't made by Sega so I didn't get that one. I'd like to stick to first party at least for collecting purposes.

I said to the guys "I suppose the keyboard and mouse won't be useable now, eh?" then I said "I'll take them off your hands." They thought I was trying to get them free, so I had to explain I meant I would pay for them.
