Don't you mean "Defender of the Future"? Or is it a foreign?

Anyway, that's lucky. I just got into collecting and can't find a deal like that unless I buy a bunch of $3.00 games.

Yup, it sure was lucky. It's not very often one manages to get that kind of deal unless it's a bunch of crap.

Well, it's extremely beautiful I think, haven't had time to really play it though but it's looking very nice. I must recommend it, if not for anything else than for the sheer beauty of it. I really enjoyed speaking to momma whale to :D

Cheers!

Dynamite Cop is really fun although kind of short. It'd be great to get that kind of deal, but we pretty much have all the Dreamcast games except sports titles and the few Starscream sold for some reason?

Hehehe..

I just came back from what seems to be turning into my daily trip to Game Stop where I bought three Echo games. The two Genesis ones and the DC one. The only one I ever played was on the Game Gear years ago. I can't wait to see how they are.

I just played all three Ecco games. I only beat the first level on the first two Genesis ones, but when I got to the DC Ecco, I was too enthralled in the beautiful level design and play control to care about doing the level just then. That is one nicely designed game.

All three are really nice actually. The second one has nice graphics for a Geness game and the DC one has some of the nicest graphics I've seen on any console.

I just recently picked up Alone in the Dark for like $8 and cleaned out the last dregs of a Dreamcast closeout my local Blockbuster was having so I got a bunch of stuff for like $2 each.

oh yeah, and Chu Chu Rocket... can you say addictive?

I knew that you could!

I wish my Blockbuster still had some DC games they were getting rid of. As far as I know, they haven't had them in the 4 years I've lived in the area. :(

Actually, the Game Stop seems to be getting picked over by me and some other guy. They already took Virtua Tennis before I could. I'd better grab what I can before all the cheap good ones are gone. Not that there are even any GOOD DC games left there. The guy said that they get new trade-ins once in a while, but I wish it was faster. I need more! I'm gonna try for the whole set!

Austin was great for DC games. I finally scored Soul Calibur for a reasonable price ($8 or $10 used, I forget, mint disc) and a bunch of shrinkwrapped games for $5 apiece. Man I love cons. :D

Trooper... so how many games you currently sitting on?

Also, have you checked into that new released Feet of Fury?
For $19 you can't really go wrong, or can you? Ah, it' looks decent
and would make a nice addition to my collection!

:)

How many games for the DC does everyone here have? I have around
148+ complete *and that includes the lovely REZ and Head Hunter* :)

Anyone wanna start a DC dedicated site with me? !:)

Also, if your into the emu stuff (which I'm usually not because I prefer the real thing) however the DC NES is the most stable NES in the world ;)
Plus, I hear they just got the Atar 7800 and Lynx working on there too under some M.E.S.S. :) Can't wait for perfection!

The DC is sucha wonderful system! haha...
Jasoco... dude... Viruta Tennis is a *must* for everyone! very very good game, imo!

I pretty much cleaned out all the DC games in my area.... the ones are left are either crap or broken/missing inserts and stuff (ick, stay away collectors! ;)

Ahh, only (counts fingers 15 times ;) about 120 more DC games to get, and I'll be set ;) *hey, this was a bragging zone right?;)

Anyone have a spare copy of Power Stone? Mine is for some odd reason not working (no scratches, I dont understand?) it just doesn't boot in my DC anymore... all my other games works! Anyone else here got Worms and or World Party! Very good/fun games as well!!

Excellent Dreamcast finds at a great price!

I love Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future. It is a beautiful and a very fitting sequel to the excellent Genesis games. However, it is a bit difficult (in figuring out where to go, and in doing it!) in a few places. I was extremely proud and satisfied when I finally beat the game! It's also got a cool sci-fi storyline and Tom Baker (Dr. Who) narrates it!!!

Incidentally, are you aware that some of David Brin's storyline was augmented, and some game design was done by an AA forum member? Yep, Big Mo worked on the game. I believe he told me that one particular plot side-story, the different tribes of futuristic dolphins, was one of his contributions, for example.

I've played Ecco and Ecco 2: The tides of time on Genesis. I've played Ecco on Sega CD, plus Ecco Jr on Genesis (you can't die!!!), as well as Dreamcast Ecco. Didn't play the PS2 version which is a port of the DC one.

There are 2 things I didn't like about Ecco: DOTF. In one level, the game slowed to sub-20 fps CRAWL for me. It was nearly unplayable. I would have liked that conveyor belt level a lot more if that glitch wasn't there. And in another level or two, the draw distance is too short, with too much fog, and it is very easy to get lost in the murky sea. These are my 2 nitpicks.

-------------

I like Dynamite Cop too. Nice little beatem-up. I think that Soul Fighter is a very bad game though. It starts off good enough, but the camera is very bad and there is too much backtracking/respawning for my taste, ruining the game IMO.

this reminds me, i few weeks ago i found a 'Grandia 2' game for only 50 cents, i dont have a DC but my friend does and i gave it to him, i would have been stupid to pass that up. oh, and i also got a DexDrive for 2 dollars, the thing that lets you put saved games on your PSX memory card, and i have gotten some use out of that =D

Don't rub it in!

So I missed it by a day. I'm slowly learning my lesson...

Buy the game NOW! You can RETURN IT!

Grr... That and Space Channel 5.. I'm so sad.

I can trump that. I got a NEW copy of Soul Calibur for $9.99 at - get this - the movie/game rental department of my local grocery store. I had never seen Soul Calibur anywhere else, wasn't sure I'd ever find it, and BAM - there it was - one new, sealed copy, marked down to get out the door. One of my best DC scores. :D

I can come pretty close - I've scored brand new, unopened copies of Sonic Adventure 2 and Typing of the Dead for $10 each just by hitting game stores at random in Nebraska and Iowa looking for stuff. I do know a grocery store in Iowa that was selling an inventory of N64 and PS1 games for a while, but by the time I got there (I got tipped off by a friend in management at the location) all the good stuff was long gone and only sports titles were left.

I've wanted to get my hands on Sonic 2, but have never been able to find it for around the $10 price. Last I saw it was TRU and it was still around $30. :(

My kids play Sonic Adv 2 all the time. The disc is pretty beat up but it still works, with only a stray crash now & then.

I've never seen SA2 for anywhere near $10, not even used.

Here's the part you'll really hate - I picked up a used copy and took it to the counter, and the guy turned around, unlocked a glass case, and handed me A NEW SHRINKWRAPPED ONE INSTEAD. I was dumbfounded, and then he said "we only keep that one out for display purposes." :!: :D

Funny thing is, I've bought brand new Dreamcast games at stores like Circuit City, FYE and even TRU now for LESS than what used copies would cost at Gamestop/Funco and EB.

Who hasn't? It drove me insane after the "Dreamcast clearance" ended and Best Buy/C City/TRU were out of stock. I bought my first thirty or so Dreamcast games for $5-$10 each, and got used to that price, then when the supply dried up I had sticker shock at the secondhand stores. I paid this much for it new, and you want +$35+ for it used? Get-da-fuhg-outta-here!
