Welcome aboard!

Drop me a list of what you are looking for. I'd be happy to help. There are tons of DIY sites out there, but also most of the documentation you will need is scattered around as well. LMK if there is any one piece you may need. For the most part, www.spies.com/~arcade is the manual "bible". Without them, we'd all be in trouble!

For what Quarterarcade.com does, and considering its a legit retail place, they do well. Prices on retail machines are always higher than Internet, because of overhead. Thats why I do not have a store front for my arcades :) Still pay taxes, though>>>:(

Here are two good repair/restoration sites I have run across:

http://www.arcaderestoration.com/

http://www.mikesarcade.com/arcade/

I attended an auction recently and finally got sucked into the world of arcade repair!

To save me some time, anyone know of a good site that explains how I may diagnose or repair an Atari Quadrascan vector monitor for my Asteroids Deluxe machine? I recently acquired it(maybe I'll post a pic up) but I can't pin point what the problem is with the monitor(no output, but everything else seems to work). Any pointers? Thanks!

I stumbled across this site:

http://www.ionpool.n...oidsrepair.html

has some good information on repairing Asteroids/Asteroids Deluxe.

Hey thanks! I'd been browsing a couple of times but the link you gave me is certainly the best and most informative site I've found on AD repair yet. Hopefully I'll be able to fix it soon. I also have a broken Zaxxon machine, but I know what the problem with that one is (the circuit board on the monitor is cracked).

Not just once in a while, but EVERY QS monitor I have EVER worked on has needed the solder reflowed on the connector pins. If you say all is well on the boards, and the monitor will still not fire up, I would get a good soldering iron and reflow all the connector pins on the boards. It may take you a few minutes, but it is so very worth your time. I have fixed many an XY by that trick alone(esp. if the spot killer light is on).

HTH,
Cassidy
