Just wondering how many people know about it. I picked this up in Japan about 4 years ago just because of the fact that it was a really strange thing to have. :D

It was being played at JoeDP's house the last time I was there but I didn't give it a try. Definitely a weird concept.

Pepsi Man is also an unlockable character in the Japanese version of Fighting Vipers for the Saturn.

I was never as tempted to buy a Saturn (and mod it) as I was when I read about the Iron Chef game. I think somewhere, some time, at some point down the road, I'll own a Japanese Saturn and a copy of this game. Some day...

No need to mod it if you use the trusty Game Shark cart. Holding down a couple buttons upon start of the game allows you multi region access.

I thought Saturns were disc driven. Where would you plug in a cart? :?

In the top man. There's a cart slot for additional ram or what have you... Game Shark or action replay cart goes right in there, hell there's even an expansion slot on the back for a beefier FMV playback.

from ebay, look at the back top of the unit, that's the cart slot. in back, is a smaller slot for the memory upgrade to enhance FMV playback.

Out of curiosity whats the premise of the pepsi game? From the general theme, i presume it has to do with pepsi, but what's the story?

lemmee guess, I bet it involves collecting things...

Oy

Speaking of commercials in game form, has anyone had the displeasure of playing and [gulp] owning the Game Cube game "Darkened Skye"?

It is an evil title put out by the fine folks at Simon & Schuster Interactive, the people who make books based on movies based on books... yeah, those guys.

Turns out the game, which does not say anything about it being a product endorsement anywhere on the box, [with the exception of a trademark in small print under the Licensed by Nintendo Blurbage], is really nothing more than a game about collecting Skittles... that's right, SKITTLES.

It's packaged in a way that makes you believe it's an adventure RPG kind of game. [ EVIL!!]

At least with Pepsi Man and The Noid, you know what you're getting.

Great review.

Kudos to the Pepsi-Man dev team for not being afraid to say what the game is up front. I wish more game developeers had that sense of pride.

I wouldn't pay $250 for it, but if someone unloaded one for $25 I'd happily take it (even minus the PlayStation).
