I dunno if this thread has already been done or not, but correct me if it has.

I'd like to see a newer version of River City Ransom with a different storyline. Hell, they could keep it 2D but just beef up the graphics a little.

Hmm.

Any other ideas?

How about this? Skeet Shoot 2K3?

They're already remaking RCR. There's a sequel of it for Super Famicom... but it sucks ass.

I want to see Shatterhand remade.

yea it does, i dont really understand it (lack of plot) so i just run around punching women until people come to beat me up and repeat, it has no real point.. i went to the strip malls and then around there i gave up.

Now Kunio-tachi no Banka is alot more fun for a riki/kunio snes game, although it follows a different storyline than the river city ransom series.. best i remember its the sequal to what american gamers knew as "renagade"

How about an update of KABOOM! Have it come with it's own set of paddles. I'd be in line for that.

I am in total support to the remaking of 80's classics. I've enjoyed Pac-Man World 1 and 2, the newer Q*bert PSX game, Tempest 2000, and no doubt others I'm not thinking of. I'm sure some of the games don't work well (like the PSX 3D Pitfall Harry game, ech) but some do! I never played the newer Sinistar or Battlezone, not being a PC gamer.

Speaking of this, how is the most recent Defender game? It must have bombed at retail because it is priced well under $20 new, at a clearance rate it seems, but I still haven't bought it because I suspect it isn't that great. But at $15 it can't be that bad can it?

Lessee ...

Back in the Next Gen Online days, I recall having a thread going where several of us discussed a modern Joust. But the idea we had back then was flawed, I see it now -- Joust would not work in total 3D. A 2D perspective but using high-poly 3D visuals would be awesome. Rather than a stupid plot with cut-scenes, have the Ostrich-mounted One fly across the countryside from area to area, each with its own challenges which would play like classic Joust but with a higher & wider screen area. Have some enemies which you'd have to butt-bounce on a specific area of them (imagine a strange flying craft with weak spots on front & back, you'd have to nail those two spots to bring it down). Bonus round could be flying through Lava Troll Sea picking up falling eggs. :) Joust!

Or, imagine Crystal Castles but in a more "3D Platformer kind of vein". MIght be fun ... or has this game already been done as "Banjo Kazooie" ?

I'm all for remakes of older games. Some of the ones that I would love to see are Double Dragon, Ikari Warriors (or just IW2 with better graphics and remixed music) Super Turrican, Golden Axe, ESWAT, Rolling Thunder, theres plenty more but I just cant think of them all, i'll post more when I can think of them

I really like Wind Jammers in the arcade playing with friends that was very fun. Not sure if there has been a sequel or an off-shoot made for that. I would love Super Mario Bros. 4 and another Rayman 2-d game.

I'd love to see a newer version of Marble Madness by Mark Cerny or perhaps a sequel to 1942 and 1943...cuz I like those kinds of shooters.

An updated Double Dragon would be nice as well.

We had a goofy thread in the 7800 area a while ago about waht we'd like if Atari did a Ninja Golf update for modern systems - more ninjas, more golf, more mayhem.

I think Joust would be another good one to update, although I'd do it as a Pokemon-ish game for the Game Boy Advance - with four-way scrolling "adventure" sequences, you can build up the strength and abilities of various different riders and mounts, and then connect the buggers for head-to-head action like the original.

I kind of wonder what Atari could do with the Star Raiders franchise nowadays. Would there be a market for something like Star Raiders as opposed to the scripted, mission-oriented space combat games that are out there today? Just "you're the only ship in the sector that's crawling with Xylons... go!" and it's different every time.

(I mean, sure, BattleSphere sells for crazy money, but that's partly rarity and being targeted at old-school gamers who think "see dots, eat dots" is all the story a game needs. Could a Star Raiders-style game appeal to a broad audience today?)

I'd also probably buy an Xbox tomorrow for Live-enabled Ballblazer.

I'd like to see JET SET WILLY or ELITE or a 3d PARADROID.

Most 2D games just won't work in 3d, I am also not looking forward to Pitfall Harry, I just wish they kept it 2D and beefed up the graphics/gameplay. Then I'd be looking forward to it more.

The new versions of SPYHUNTER and DEFENDER are OK, not bad but not good, just OK.

i think i remember seeing that xevious 3-d in the arcades, must say though that it looks crap-tacular. looks like a jaguar game even, something more modern in the vain of rouge squardron would be good. imagine if those floating circle things had AI...

I would like a working version of mame for the gameboy advance so I can get the ram cart and play my favorite arcade games in my gameboy when I'm away from home, like Mission XX, MS-Pacman, Double Dragon, Golden Axe, Gyruss, Galaga... etc that'd be pretty cool :)

I always thought Cyrstalis for the NES was a great game that deserved a sequel. The GBC remake was crap

I'm still waiting for Nintendo to do a real sequel to Kid Icarus. That was my first NES game (besides the SMB pack-in), and I've probably beaten the game dozens of times.

I also wouldn't mind seeing Sega put out a new Wonderboy in Monster World game.

Startropics!

They made a second which I haven't played on a console and only played it on an emulator which messed up the graphics. But it needs a third to make a trilogy. Mike needs a new adventure. "Return to C-Island"! Yeah.. sweet...

Earthbound as well. Can't believe the N64 version died off. Grrrr... :x
