Just finished playing the demo disk...

Where did you get the disk? I can't find it around Pittsburgh, PA, and I don't really want to pay an extra $4.99 S&H from EB Games or GameStop.

Pay? I thought the game was free! I just called Gamestop and they're holding my bonus disc which I'll be picking up over lunch today. Yeah I put down $5, but that was a down payment for Rogue Leader III.

Heavy - as NE said, the disk was free with a pre-order of Rogue Squad 3... I don't know if that offer is still going, but you might want to check around your local shops and give it a shot.

No, but I bought the Macintosh port when it came out around 1989.  It used the mouse too, and quite well, but the music was missing (except for a horrendous rendition of the title track) and the graphics were simplified ... and in black and white.  The voices were there and the control was spot-on, but it wasn't emulation, it was just another port.
Hmm... I'd love to get my hands on a copy of that game for my SE. Wonder if I can find it on Google.

I called my local EB and they said they just got them in. I'm going out to get it now. I didn't want to pre-order it online because while the game is free with the pre-order, EB and GameStop were charging an extra $4.99 s&h charge to have the demo disk shipped to you before they shipped Rebel Strike.

I tried Circuit City today and they said they didn't have it, so I'll have to find the nearest EB tomorrow and pre-order it there. :D :thumbsup:

Check Bestbuy, my local one had atleast 20 of them setting on the shelf for $5 each.

YES!
Trust capitalism to let you buy the pre-order bonus by itself.

Best Buy did this with the Zelda bonus disk as well. They aren't really selling it for $5.00. That purchase is your pre-order. You can return with your receipt and get $5.00 off the purchase of the full game.

DISCLAIMER: That's assuming it is just like the Zelda bonus disk, of course.

Oh.

I'd heard many stores were outright selling the Zelda pre-order disk.

I know many sell the GameCube demo disk, despite "not for resale" being written across the front of the package.

...
Tangent:

Rats. Looks like Toys R Us found something to do with their leftover Master Quest disks.

For a while after Wind Waker came out, they had the Master Quest disks on their website for(and I kid you not) a hundred dollars a disk.
Apparently they had a massive overbuy and decided to sell it as a collectable. :roll:

Just got the preview disc (guy said I got the last one they had, I was a little lucky)

Thoughts:

Loading:
* looks like a much more adult version of the GC logo!

The Arcade Game:
* I thought the control was pretty decent, especially if you knew how the original always sprung back to center.
* The timing seemed a wee bit off somehow...like too slow, especcialy in the intermission scenes? And I don't remember having quite that much time to read the writing on death star....and what does say the second time through? It looks like someone's name but I couldn't quite read it.
* DAMN, you know what would be wonderful? If they could put the much rarer Empire Strikes Back vector game as a bonus on the real disc... I've always wanted to try that.

Artwork:
* kinda cool

Video Preview:
* Hmmm...good, but almost too much endor and hoth...

Gladius:
* feh, forget star wars....I wanna be a random unknown sword dude and slog through ... oh, forget it.

Preview:
* real footage, huh? that takes chutzpah
* not sure if I'm crazy about the "little task" gameplay, or the robotron fighting. Still, the previews mention a whole "wedge" path of nothin' but spaceships, so it should be great.
* Tough mission!

I was just thinking that! You know, all three original coin-op games can't be very big, it'd be great if they put all of them on the actual disc.
